Another newbie ID question!

Hey all ...

I'm new to this group.... a little background: I'm a teacher and I'm looking for an Airstream to buy/restore. I think I've found a good choice. It will need a little work, but might not be a bad project. It is 20' and had a Trade Wind logo on it. I've done some looking around for a serial number, but all of the numbers I can find don't match up with Airstream's serial number guide. There is only 1 plate with numbers stamped on it next to the door with the numbers 241 554T stamped on it. I am just curious as to what year it is and which model it is so that I can get an idea what it would need to look like if it was restored back to original condition.

Thanks

Congratulations on your potential Airstream!

However, if it is a TradeWind...then it is actually considered either a 24' or 25' trailer...Airstream measures "tongue to tail" which usually adds 3'+ to the actual body length. While I am not able to help you decode the numbers you posted...here is a link to a great Vintage Archive Site which will help you identify the year and give you a good idea of what it may have looked like inside. Good luck with your quest ~

The Airstream you found, s/n 241 554T, is a 24' Tradewind, 1961 model, sequence # 554 with Twin beds.
