I'd like to give my take on using the flag as part of the sticker. First off I feel that everyone should fly the flag out of respect for the country, those serving , those who served, and those who came before us. Secondly I was rasied to respect the flag so that tempers what follows. The flag shoud not be used as any means of advertising, commerical enterprise or as an article of clothing(the only exception is as part of an official uniform). Therefore my vote would have to be for one of the designs that does not use the flag. If this steps on your toes, I' sorry to offend but this is how I feel and in fact is part of the flag code.

Photoshop does not a graphic designer make

I appreciate the zeal of the logo creators, but most are just rewarming an existing design. How about some original thought here?

Love thy neighbor

Love thy neighbor
Agree that Airstream is an American Icon but International includes America.

I am no authority on Wally Byam and the Airstream heritage but I have read quite a bit and I believe it was Wally Byams dream and goal for Airstream to be an Internationally recognized traditon.

I am proud to be an American especially an American with an Airstream, truly an American heritage, but I welcome Airstreamers abroad and believe that they should be treated with the same recognition.

Maybe when the Forum reaches the expected status that will generate sponsorship and endorsements, there will be Logos that are specific to regions and or countries but for the time being the forum does not seem to discern or segregate the location where one parks his or her Airstream.

Very respectfully,
Ken Smillie

Timeline for Logo submittals

It would be nice to bring the logo issue to culmination by polling for a timeline and or deadline on logo submittals.

Then on to a poll for the favorite logo.

Hopefully all Forum subscribers would be allowed and encouraged to place their votes.

I understand that not all members and or visitors are savvy enough to generate their own Logo ideas but maybe an interested party could request assisatnce from a member who is.

I must admit that I have seen a couple that interest myself and I am not as savvy as some others on this forum.

I feel that we are a large community with members who have provided a great amount of assistance to us "newbies" . Surely within this huge community there are those willing to assist in getting some fresh and original ideas for logos out to the rest of the interested community.

I know I can be long winded but I am looking forward to applying my new,(and my first) logo to my Airstream.

I am even more looking forward to seeing the logo on a fellow members AS and introducing myself and meeting face to face.

I am clearing a spot on my window today.

Last time I had a original thought I got in trouble with my wife. I have been impressed with the designs which have come forth. Reworking a current design is often a great starting point. I have seen a number of original designs and feel they should all be collected and posted on a page here for all to see in the future. I live in New Orleans and every year posters are chosen for the Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest. Many designs are entered but only one is chosen. The other designs end up turning up at galleries and poster shops. I will often see a poster on a displayed which I know was not the "official" poster for that year and wonder why it wasn't. The tread should run as long as it's life will let it run then a logo selected, are we in a hurry for some reason ?

If you have a design and are having a hard time getting it posted contact me by PM and I will try to help. I would be glad to place any of the designs I have seen so far on my trailer.

No hurry

Please pardon my coming across as impatient.

By no means am I trying to apply pressure but I was implying formalization of the process.

As I stated in my previous post, I think a time line could be agreed upon by all members. ( I believe I used the term poll)

Althogh I personally would like a rapid resolution, I recognize that I am an individual and I am not the whole Forum.

With that being said, I just think that the Forum is definitely interested in a logo, (please see poll on logo listed at the top of this thread), and we could formalize the process with a timeline that is agreed upon by all members of the forum.

Kinda like you have described the Posters for Mardi Gras.
They too, have to be submitted in a timely manner.

Very respectfully,
Ken Smillie

I really like Shari's etched glass rendition and would put it on the rear window of my 31' Excella 500 as well as the rear window of my pickup. PeterH, since TN. does not use front license plates, I'd love to see your design on a license plate for the front of my truck.

Sticker Album

I created an Album for all the submissions.
Jim, I did not include the animation for known technical reasons.

Please keep the ideas coming.
Feel free to modify any submissions for use as a forum logo only. I you submit a logo and do not want it to be modified, please note that.
Any third party will have to get permission from the original creator of the design as named in the photoalbum.

Only because the events which they are prepared for have a starting date etched in stone. I don't see a big deadline looming here. The 2 events are recurring and a artist has years to design a poster for submission.

Another difference is that the Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest posters change every year, I believe and hope that this logo will be used for a much longer period.

License plate frame

Hey y'all,

I like all the ideals, and logo. the sticker, or front plate is good but we here, on the left coast must have a front plate on all cars and trucks. I think the logo on the license plate Frame would be a nice clean look, no adhesive sticker to get messed up, easy too install and remove. - Ray

Shari,
only the ones I missed.
I think Andy should make a postcard out of that one.
Once you reach 3 rivets you get a postcard.
I noticed a typo and tried to replace that picture with no avail. I placed a corrected one in the logo archive.
http://www.airstreamphotos.com/photo...t=3008&thumb=1
Remember, you can rant and rave in the logo archive, as some of you already have done.
Now, go get some spray paint and write Airstreamforums.com on your silver bullet, take a picture and submit it.
