If you see it for sale somewhere , please contact me. The Shelby county sheriff is looking for it but I don’t expect a thorough search…..

It was so nice and was set up just the way I wanted it……towed like a dream….

I don’t know if this is the correct thread to post this notice……if there is a better spot on the forum, admins feel free to move it.

It’s difficult to believe it won’t be quickly found if the theft was intended for re-sale.

On the other hand, if it was stolen to replace a junked or burnt-out one…. a dataplate transfer might hide it for some time. A database search of registered older airstreams might take awhile to reveal it.

I hope you had it insured.

(And DAMN!…I’m sorry this happened to you. Can you provide any addt’l details of how/when/where and the storage facility? Any security cameras? Trackers? etc?

That's terrible. So sorry to hear that. Any idea approximately when it would have been stolen? Best of luck.

How about a VIN??? Looks like a repair on the curb side door area?. Anything else set it apart from the rest of the 68s?

So sorry to hear this. I too had my 72 25’ Tradewind stolen on Labor day 15 years ago. No leads, not a trace or clue where it went so I feel your pain. In 15 minutes thieves can cut locks, gate chains and once it’s 100 yards down the road it can be anywhere. Worse is the loss of a Vintage one of a kind Airstream where family memories are made. It’s un-replaceable. I hope that someone spots it and you get it back. I found the local police don’t care and are little help. With all the traffic cameras out there you’d think a silver trailer would be noticed. Continue to post pics on the forum as this group can spot silver with eagle eyes. I’m sure that my Tradewind went to someone’s back yard for a mother in law to live in. If it was on the road it would turn up.
To the rest of our forum friends I’d say to invest in a GPS tracking device. Apple makes their Air Tags which for $20 will let you know if your trailer moves 30’.
Best to you.

I had it insured……it was stored on a secure Cubesmart lot, with a gate that requires a code to enter, but obviously that is not fool-proof…….

No other distinguishing identification on it really…..I tried to keep it as original as possible…..

There is about a 3 month time frame when it could have been stolen…..I was not able to check on it for a while due to health reasons….sometime between Dec.15 and feb.15 I think.

Bad deal all around, sorry........ I especially feel bad about how it was all dialed in to just how you wanted it.

If that happened to us, I would be just as disappointed about all the custom tools and ancillary equipment we carry.

Again, sorry.......

A bit like closing the barn door after the horses have escaped, but I highly recommend this product. Has built-in sensors for temperature, vibration, movement, tilt, and can have other external sensors added such as contact closure, door/window, etc.

I have mine hidden somewhere not easy to find. Every once in a while, I forget to disarm it before travel and it lets me know. It can be professionally monitored, but I just have mine call my cell phone along with my home phone so I can make the call on whether to involve the authorities or not. It will also text and email, though the calls get through the quickest.

I have one in every vehicle and trailer. $20/month is cheap insurance.

The issue with apple tags is that if the person taking it also has an iPhone, their phone will notify them that they are being followed by a tag and they can force it to reveal it's location and/or disable it.

Video?

If this was a secure lot I’d expect them to have cameras. If a keypad is needed to get in they would have a time stamp for each entry.

How will any one know it is yours that is being sold versus another one, without first knowing the vehicle identification number?

Why don't you expect the police to do their job?

I am curious about this. Do you have to pay any additional cellular fees or only the cost of the device?

Dewalt ds600

I just called Dewalt. .It's 19.95 a month that is required to make the cellular connection to a Verizon network. It does not work on or connect to Wi-Fi in any way shape or form. The product itself is $299.

It works a bit differently than most and you have to work it to it's strengths.

You have the purchase price of the unit and then the $19.95/month cost. but it has an internal rechargeable lithium battery that will last about 30 days if no external accessories are used. If you use the optional Low Power Bluetooth accessories, the battery life drops to about a week.

Optionally, you can purchase a small solar charger that will keep it charged, but I opt for the 12 to 24V power supply that keeps it working. In my Airstream or other vehicles, I just tap that into the existing 12V system. If you turn the master power off, it will operate on its internal battery for up to the 30 days. As long as it's above the lithium charging minimum temp, it will recharge automatically when you turn the vehicle power back on.

I also have these installed on some solar arrays I use in my business. I kept having them get stolen. Showed up with the police at a guys garage to recover the last set. that's the last time they got stolen.

You can control it via the web or via SMS on your phone.

It's the best option I've found. It is industrial quality. the only drawback is that it works off of the Verizon 4G network. If you don't have Verizon service, it won't communicate. that means if you have parked your vehicle where there is no service, it won't work very well until it gets back into service.

I know people complain about the $19.95/month price, but honestly, if you consider what your Airstream cost you, it's cheap.

while it does have the geo fencing capability, the internal sensors, especially the movement and vibration sensors are the most useful. they will generally alarm before the geofencing alerts.

In Memphis, the police are so overwhelmed with wild animals running the streets pillaging and shooting guns like it’s a game, that things like this do not get the attention they deserve……
