On Aug 17-19, we kept meeting a 25' with ID tags that was 'moving' to Santa Monica, CA as we and they cruised Grand Teton an Yellowstone NPs. We also met the owners from ID with 30' w/ slideout at GTNP
As we left East Glacier on Aug 28, we waved bye to the AS from IL (#13186) that was parked below us at Johnson's. We could also see an AS parked at the KOA from our spot on top of the hill. And a 17' Bambi spent the night at Johnsons on the 26th.
Today, we played sorta played hopscotch with #3703 from UT as we left Kalispell. And northbound on US 93 we flashed lights back at another AS right after we passed 3703.
Now if I can find the cable to download the pics....................

Excella in Old Shasta
I was leaving the post office in Old Shasta and saw an Excella being towed by a maroon Toyota Tundra about 2pm today.

Too funny - were were up in Estes/RMNP with our 23FBSE this weekend (towing with my '08 Tundra I might add). Stayed in the Moraine Park campground across from a nice couple with a Class C AS. It must have been Airstream weekend in Rocky Mtn. National Park!

Spotted this fine Airstream parked at (or in) the Blue Moon Diner at the Great Minnesota Eat Together on Saturday. Attendance that day was 226,000.
Sadly, I see a bad case of rear end separation in this trailer's future.

Just got home from a quick weekend trip to Milton, Ontario. Met up with Doug and Terri and Dick and Ethyl at Terri's brother's place. We spent a great weekend at the 50th Steam Era Show. On the trip up I spotted two Airstreams on Saturday morning (early) The first westbound on I90 at the intersection with I86. It was towed with a red pickup. The second was eastbound on the QEW, towed by a grey SUV, Nissan maybe. I also caught a picture of this MoHo for sale at exit 35 of I90 in PA. Not sure if it's an AS, but, for once I got a photo, so I'm posting it.

And what do you think this quote is all about?
"I have always wanted an Airstream, and since they went "eco" I want one even more. Even "Motormouth" Steve Berry over in the UK has become enamored of the "eco airstream caravan." But how cool would this be . . . to drag your motorcycles around in a solar powered, bamboo-floored, self-composting, vintage Airstream?"
When exactly did Airstream go "eco"?

This cute one pulled in front of us off I-64 in Nag's Head onto Rt. 12. we followed them all the way to the KOA at milepost 40, but they kept going
not much to look at from THIS angle, i know, but i saw it from the side. i'd guess it at about 24 foot, virginia tags, WBCCI numbers were worn or sanded off, but i could make out that they were 4 digits long and started with a 9. i forgot what was towing it ... something dark?

I was wondering when they went "eco" myself. The "eco" ones I know of are rehabbed by someone with an interest in "eco" like:

Here's one we found while driving around Altus (OKlahoma) yesterday...Stopped by today and visited with an elderly man who is retired from the irrigation water district. His name is Bud Chambers. And when I asked him what he did, he said 'nothing!' He purchased this one about five-six years ago from a fellow in Elk city.
He said he believed it was a 30 ft (not sure) but anyway here you folks go.
The first two are of an airstream at our Walmartthat was headed north towards the state park...and the rest are of Mr. Chambers. By the way Mr. Chambers said to tell all of you hello!

Found THIS in Cripple Creek Colorado
We were in Cripple Creek Colorado sightseeing and look at what we saw !! The owner caught us poking around under the tarp, and was delighted to tell us all about his project.
The green unit was one he'd seen at Moab Utah, and gave him his inspiration. He has mounted the Airstream on a whole new chassis, attached it to an old, old truck, and is finishing the inside. He let me climb up inside to admire his work, and we were both duly impressed.
If you EVER get the opportunity to get to Cripple Creek, look for Butch's Welding at the end of the main drag.

Y'know, Airstreams have always been accidentally "eco" in the most practical, realistic way. What's really ecologically friendly is to retain, maintain, use and re-use what's already been made. Look at the number of people on this forum using 20-50 year old trailers every weekend!
If you accept that someone who wants to camp in an RV is going to do so, I daresay there's a bigger "eco-friendly" factor for them to choose a '66 Tradewind over a brand-new SOB than for someone to choose to buy a Prius over a Corolla for sitting in weekday traffic.

Now, if they could only use the Prius, or even the Corolla to tow their AS! :: sigh ::

i saw 3 today of various ages, all appeared to be in the 29-31 ft range. first was towed by a white truck headed westbound on I-40 in knoxville, TN. i waved as they passed me (i was coming off the onramp after spending the night at the flying J there) and they waved back second was a bit older(?) wide blue stripe, hauled by a dark blue truck, headed eastbound on I-40 between milepost 245 and 244 (still in TN). third was a bit newer hauled by a dark red/maroon truck... and i spotted them pulling out of the Flying J parking lot at exit 86 off I-24 in Kentucky.
