At Liberty truck stop in Broadway, VA (exit 257 off I-81) saw a Classic getting gas - big red numbers 6965. Towed by a grey Chevy Z71.

Not what I expected-- this Argosy was on a tailings mound at the entrance to a huge copper mine in Cananea, Mexico.Click image for larger version

Big two days for sightings as we move north out of Georgia. First, yesterday we saw two late model trailers heading south on US 441 outside Franklin NC. They were a mile or two apart from each other but appeared to be the roughly the same year and size. I was trying to keep our Tundra and EB 25 moving up hill and between the lines, but I'd say both were 28 RBs.

Today we stopped to walk the dogs and make lunch between Pigeon Forge and Severville on 441. While we were eating, the rig below quietly pulled in and parked behind us. We never heard him and he didn't shout out to us. When we got out we were surprised by the sight. Nobody there! As we began to move out the fellow came out of Starbucks and flagged us down. Nice guy, from Kentucky traveling to an old car show. We told him about AirForums.

http://www.airforums.com/photos/show...&cutoffdate=-1

Later, on I40 we saw a vintage trailer with the many curved panels (I recall 1950s vintage trailers had 13 individual aluminum pieces forming the top front?) that was heading west near the junction with I81. It was probably about a 20 footer. The polish looked beautiful!

Then as we pulled into our section of Warriors Path State Park, TN we passed a 2015 27' FC. I walked over to chat and learned the owners are a retired Florida couple (like the AlphaDog and me) who are full timing and headed south from summer in New England.

So... it seems to be Airstream season in the mid south.

Sent to me from SoCal.

Well, my reputation must be getting around. Now a Friend in California sends me pic of seen on the road or stashed in chicken koop Airstreams. He thought I had bought another when he saw this near Chino...another project. Looks like a Burning Man candidate to me.

Around sundown a self propelled older AS with a nice rebuilt diesel motor and buffed out shiny, with a quad in the trailer behind driving way over posted speed limits in the Crestone area making a mad dash to North Crestone Lake Campground (Forrest Service) only to find the only two spots big enough were already occupied then another mad dash back out of town to sit on the side of Saguache County Road T gazing at the map and never acknowledging the folks following the self propelled AS around (tried to offer help, maybe not interested, so we left for home - nice rig from the outside, hope he finds what he's looking for).

Heading home with the Avion today from a church retreat at Sky Ranch Cave Springs in Oklahoma, saw an Airstream travel trailer heading north on I-49 at about mile 14 in southern Missouri.

Gifford Pinchot National Forest Iron Creek campground, an older AS, perhaps an International late 60s, pulled in last night, they circled twice before picking their site. Near Randle, WA and Mt St Helens.

That is a fantastic campground as long as you avoid the vault toilets. The campsites and trees there are wonderful, as is the access to Mt. St. Helens via Windy Ridge, but those potties were pretty toxic last time we were there.

On the way out, for a small fee we dumped at Maple Grove RV Park, just before crossing the river and getting back on Route 12.

Highly recommended, we'd definitely stay at Iron Creek again.

ID:	248407. Saw this just SW of Richmond. Towing from Pa to Fl. Mobile learning lab. No window in front or back. Like that from the factory. Prob be a food cart. Possibly a 69. He said he had never heard of the forums but had a lot of Airstreams.

To Txdxrider: You may have seen us on 9/11. We picked up I90 near Erie late morning heading into Buffalo. We are a 25 Eddie Bauer and our TV is a silver 4 door Tundra. I must have been counting change for the NY tolls (or is it spelled trolls?) and missed you! On Assateague Island MD right now working our way home before the first cold snap up north! No more GamnaDog sightings outside FLA till spring!
