Between Otley and Pella, the roadside wheel came off, and the owner pulled to the side of the road. According to Mark, the mechanic, the studs were all broken on that side, so he had to put new ones in and replace the wheel. Then he had to go around to the curb side, jack it up and re-install the nuts correctly. (Yes, they were about to come off, also)

As someone fairly new to the AS world, can someone explain how you can put wheel nuts on backwards? Are they not like cars? Is this a vintage AS thing or greater AS thing?

I'm assuming they mean beveled side out... It's a steel wheel kind of thing.

Yes they would be just like cars. The nut has a flat side and a conical side. The conical side goes into the cone shaped hole in the wheel to center it and tighten it.

Nice looking old AS tho. I'm guessing it would be about 21 ft?

This is a perfect example of why something that might be so obvious to some is so foreign to others... Glad no significant damage was done to the trailer. Hopefully he finds his way to the forums! Lord knows they've saved me many mistakes by learning through others.

We saw two Airstreams while on the highway to Bar Harbor. We exchanged headlight flashes and big waves. Fun!

We have this immaculate newer Airstream here at our campground. Nice looking rig in a beautiful campsite. Makes you want to hook up and go!

We may be headed up yo Bar Harbor next week. The campsite in you photo is beautiful! May I ask which campground it's in?

Spotted an AS motorhome in the BBC special Midsomer Murders last nite, one I'd taped a couple weeks ago. It was an North American motorhome, the steering wheel was on the "correct" side for us and wrong for GB.

This is the first time I've seen Airstream "aluminum cabins". This KOA has six of them for rent. The campsites are all fixed up with fancy fire pits, hammocks, patio lights, etc, etc. I'm sure they are expensive per night. I wonder if Airstream builds a "park model" for this use?

David

PS Picture wouldn't upload. I'll try again later...

It's the first I've seen Airstreams used in this manner. Here is the photo of the Aluminum Cabins.

Saw an AS 25 Sport headed east on I24 toward Nashville. We pulled into a rest area and introduced ourselves and our dogs. I like this life, and even more so, the people....

I been there I believe it's a KOA? The are located closer to the water, very nice location. We tried to rent one but they were all booked up.

I found it pretty funny when a photo identical to yours but with a truck popped up in my instagram feed and then it clicked.

Saw this Airstream when I had lunch yesterday with co-workers at a local restaurant called Loretta's in Seattle.

We decided to eat outside in the back courtyard (It was a nice day) and imagine my surprise when I saw this Airstream in the courtyard. It was a nice surprise.

We are headed to that KOA Oct 1 for 10 days. We were there a couple years ago. The airstreams are not park models, just regular airstreams. Within one month of seeing them I purchased mine! Haha. What site numbers do you all take the?
