I-87/I-287 East Bound near the Tappan Zee bridge. A 20' or so International being pulled by a white F-150. Had a Triumph Motorcycle in the bed of the truck. NICE to be able to have all your toys at one time.

My Sis in law saw a Bambi sitting at some apartments. We drove up and I ask the guy if he was interested in selling it. It is a 1962 Bambi. Looked in pretty good shape on the exterior. He said he would let us know!!
Also saw one heading East on I-40 Labor day weekend near the Harriman exit. Looked to be ~26 ft. Went by to fast to see the type. Appeared to be a Lady towing it.

Saw #2329 between Mahomet, IL and Farmer City on I-74 heading east. We winked at them, but they didn't wink back. Must not be airforum members

Thanks to you all, and especially Great Pumpkin for the link.
For an '81, it sure looks to have had a hard life, when you look at it up close. Lots of fine marks, and on the side I didn't show, it looks like someone keyed it.
I'm going to go back today and see if I can get inside, if the dealer is there...

Hmmm(n).... Dealer no there! Not encouraging, but it is Friday...
The "look" in the attached picture goes on for half of the one side. Not good!

today I saw a 19 / 22 footer with red #20071 parked in the yard of our DPS officers home on FM 1774 in Anderson TX. There was a light blue Chevy pickup parked beside it.

I know its not an A/S but thought some of you 'more experienced' owners would appreciate it. Saw it on US 231, South of Crawfordsville, IN.
I think it is an Edsel that has been chopped and converted to a camper. Couldn't stop laughing when I saw it.

Hey Airstream66,
I was in Bethany yesterday on the way to Sullivan for our unit's deployment ceremony.
I saw a Classic Airstream MOHO 310 in Springfield, IL right by Camp Lincoln yesterday. Parked in the front yard, so they may have been rehabbing the home.

knoledge from experience! They are bush or branch marks. That match the ones on my 72 from not clearing the drive to the barn wide enough.

Just got back from Roaring River State Park in Missouri. There were 2 Airstream motor homes in Paradise Valley, both from Texas and apparently the same family, the Adamses. Also one in storage. And while we were leaving the park to go fishing Friday, we saw an older, small Airstream pulling into Campground 1, and later found it parked near the back. Don't know what it was, under 18' to be sure, maybe a Caravelle? Don't think it was a Bambi. No visible license plate on it (we didn't go snooping around and no one was home) or on the red Jeep that pulled it. Didn't get to talk to the moho owners, either, it rained a lot and we didn't see them outside.

Mysterious! But kinda fun. Sounds cozy and romantic... huddled in a tiny trailer for a rainy weekend in the back corner of a campground.

The bride and I made a quick run to Reno this weekend to get away from the heat. We saw these. I know the 42 footer has been on the forum before but I don't think the others have.

IIRC, the 42' Airstream was a bunk house for one of the rail road companies. If not carried via rail car, how the heck would one go about towing that thing and where would you camp in it...and how would you back it into a camp site?

Remember, the so-called mobile homes were many times over 40 and 50 feet long, and they were towed by trucks, had wheels, and could be moved from trailer park to trailer park. I know, because we had one in the 1960's, a 10x45' "trailer". The truck always backed it in, and pulled it out to move it. Granted, we didn't move it often, but it was moved.

Just arrived home from Estes Park, CO Saw three A/S inside Elk Meadow Lodge & RV Resort (I think that was the name), two more in another park off County Road 7 on the way to Dunraven Inn and two at homes around Estes Park. Also saw an Airstream Moho at a house on the way back to Denver, think it was on County Road 66.

We saw one heading north to Superior, WI on Hwy 53 yesterday. No numbers...We were going to wink at it, but then hubby realized we weren't towing ours and it might've confused them...LOL

airstream sightings
When returning from the horse and carriage competition at Villa Louis in Prairie Du Chien, WI, spotted a early/mid-1960s Airstream in a yard along US 18 East of Prairie Du Chien near Mt. Ida, WI. The coach appeared to be a Globetrotter. This was on Saturday, September 6th.
