Just as we were returning from our Ferndale, WA gathering on July 8th we spied two Airstreams heading south, just into the US from the Vintage gathering at Hazelmere RV Park in the lower corner of BC. We got waves going both ways but I'm too slow with hauling out the CB and then finding channel 14 to say hello.

Those two units sure did look impressive going down the highway (I-5).

I saw two Airstreams at San Clemente State Beach (hook-ups area) on July 11th. Didn't get a close look at one, but I saw a blue stripe and the other looked to be a Safari FB w/ a white truck TV. We had been enjoying time with friends and our Airstream at San Clemente for about 5 days. Traveling from Long Beach to Hetch Hetchy/Yosemite Friday and Saturday! A week in the woods and my Airstream, it just doesn't get better than that!

Monday 07/16 Rt. 28 near Indian Lake, NY. We passed in opposite dirctions flashing headlights and waving. Anybody on this forum?

Also passed another in opposite directions today (Wednesday 07/18) on NY Rt. 30 near Long Lake. Flashed my lights but didn't get a response.

Both times I was concentrating, Monday because of winding roads and today because of rain slick roads. Consequently I didn't get any pertinent information such as plate/state or tow vehicle.

We seen this a couple weeks ago on our way to West Virginia, it came into Camping World in Hamburg NY while we were there, I talked to the driver and he said it is a promotional thing for Jet Blue Airlines.

Ca 99

July 29th, my two happy camper daughters spotted an AS (they say a Bambi) traveling South on the 99, just outside Tulare. That was our only on the highway sighting as we traveled with our Safari up to Yosemite and back. Did wave to a Silver Streak heading North up the Grapevine though.

Vintage Airstream north of Mojave, CA

On Sunday, July 29, we spotted a Vintage Airstream trailer with old California plates (DF 4155 I think) going south on 14 north of Mojave......as I approached from behind, a SOB lost it's awning after it passed the AS......I hit an awning arm but missed the biggest piece....don't think the Vintage Airstream got damaged....moral of this story is that when you see an awning flapping stay far behind because it will soon come off.....

We also saw an AS parked in the Oh campground in June Lake on July 28....no one was around....we saw a couple going up and down CA 395 during this time......pj

Saw 2 29-34' units about 5 miles apart headed west on I-20 this afternoon towards Vicksburg. One TV had an 'Antiques' sign on the door. A whole scad of SOB's on the same route. Did I miss the party or am I just Late?

In June we were on our first week-long out-of-state trip with our recently-acquired 2006 Bambi 19', touring the San Diego County Campgrounds... When we pulled into the William Heise Campground near Julian, CA on a Thursday afternoon there were only 2 other RVs in the loop out of maybe 20 sites...and one was a 2005 Bambi CCD 16'! As we drove by to find a site, AS campers waived enthusaistically at us (and of course we waved back!)...as soon as we could drop hitch and put down the stablizers, we went over to say "hey"... It was funny...we were all talking at once about the joy of ASs...we got the nickle tour of their wonderful little CCD, and then they came over to see our Safari SE LS...a great couple of ladies from the LA area... We were only there 1 night, but they'd been there a week... We became instant friends, shared stories and AS questions and a campfire, and have been in contact frequenlty since, sort of planning to meet somewhere in the middle to hang out, or maybe they'll come here and we'll take them camping to some of our favorite SoAZ places... We have told them about the forum but I don't think they's been here yet...I'll keep working on them! It was out frist real "other airstreamers encounter" and it was just a hoot!...TB

A "new" one turned up in a driveway on my way to work this week. It looks like an '80's model 34' Moho. Located in the Lithonia/Klondike area near Atlanta. Anybody we know?

We met several Airstreams when we were driving I29 north out of Missouri to I90 at Sioux Falls, to head west to Montana July 16-17. We did not see many, but a few on our drive west and back east on I90 on July 17-18 and July 27-28. Anyone from the forums we might have passed? An alarming sighting on I90 was an overturned on its side and badly crushed Base Camp that we saw on our trip home. Does anyone know about this incident? Our prayers went out to whomever was involved. ~G

Seen on 127 in Crossville, TN during the "longest yard sale". The front gaucho was removed and casework built to house a self-contained command center for disaster response. There's some pretty impressive equipment in there. The gentleman that handles this communication center told me of multiple deployments including twice to NO after Katrina.

Yes, they were selling at the yard sale, but no Airstream parts.

July 30th en route from Summerland, BC to Radium Hot Springs, BC we saw one 28' Airstream looked to be newer model - looked like CA plates, heading west along Hwy 1 by Revelstoke.

July 31st saw an Airstream in the RV camp at Fort Steele, BC as we zipped past. Appeared to be close to new.

Also saw 2 trailers, I'd guess mid eighties, on Hwy 3 east of Creston and west of Fernie. Appeared they were traveling together.

August 3rd en route to Vancouver via Hwy 3 from Southern Alberta saw two Argosy's heading east. Not together, they were about 2 hours apart. Both just inside the BC border. Then two Airstreams between Osoyoos, BC and Princeton, and another, mid 80's 25' just at the east end of Manning Park - pulled off the road on an access road into what appeared to be a private property. And just east of Chilliwack, BC a vintage unit, mid sixties Globetrotter I think, heading east behind a truck with a company logo on the side I couldn't read without my glasses on (where the heck are they when ever I need them?????????? )

OK, where the heck are the pictures? I'm just not quick enough at this job as my wife is driving. When things were the other way around she had no problem getting pictures but by the time I grab the camera, turn it on, focus, refocus, find my glasses, focus, we are a couple of miles past the rigs. Donna has digressed from frustration at how slow I am with this to now giggling and laughing - sigh!

This is the most number we have ever seen on any trip. We were blown away.

Saw 3 today...

The first was headed north on the New Jersey Turnpike at 10:10AM at milemarker 56.9. Looked like an Excella, but as we were going in the other direction, it passed too quickly.

Second was headed eastbound on I276 (Pennsylvania Turnpike) near milemarker 300 at 1135AM. The WBCCI number was either 5322 or 5382 (slighyt disagreement between Liz and I). The rig looked to be at least 25'.

The third was near milemarker 284 at 11:53AM, a big Airstream Class A motorhome also eastbound.

While camping in the Sandbanks area (Lake Ontario; sort of near Toronto) we've seen many Airstreams on Hwy. 401. A couple of them were at our campground - Quinte's Isle Campark.

My husband spotted an Airstream rolling down Hwy. 417 in the middle of Ottawa with their front door (and screen door) wide open... Hope no one lost anything!!
