I am in Pleasant Garden, NC and passed an Airstream being pilled by a white van, was just wondering if it was anyone on here.

I'm thinkin' Pismo..58 to 46 to Paso and 101 to the beach! Talked to a lot of folks on our recent FL/Carolinas trip and " headin' to Pismo in a month or two " was heard more than a few times. April is a wonderful time to visit the central coast.

In fact we're heading to Paso for some wine tasting soon and will likely head west over the grade on a day trip to Morro Bay, SLO or maybe to Shaw's in Santa Maria for some of that SM tri-tip that they are so famous for

Pismo? south to Jalama? Refugio? Port San Luis? Morro Bay? Montana De Oro? Cayucos? More north to San Simeon? Big Sur? Lots of potential that direction.

Alan, you had to mention Jalama...shhhh. My kinda CG...blue water view, great beach hike, maybe a rocket launch if you're lucky...remote...Jalama burgers, just a bonus. Top 5 for me. I think of it every morning when i fill my jalama mug with coffee

The rocket launches clear the campround out (unless from the north most pad) , rangers clear everyone out by 5pm I think the day prior to a schedule launch and let you back in the next morning. Most campers cancel reservations when launch warnings are issued, this is how we scored a coveted on the beach site last minute a few visits ago.
see avitar.
did some fact checking on myself, closure window depends on launch window and can be anytime. Its the Slick six pad that was designed for the space shuttle that now sees space x and other launches and is a more southern launch location thus the Jalama closures.

I talked to the owner - there are matching dents and broken windows on the other side. Tahoe with a Blue Ox hitch towing an International (25?) got between two semi's on the highway, started sway, and before they knew it, the trailer hit them on both sides and they went off in the median. Did not roll. Driver says he did use trailer brake to no effect. Suspects an incorrectly set up hitch, but did not have any data on weight distribution. Going to a Texas Airstream dealer for repairs and further investigation.

The picture shows no flex in the hitch arms and too many chain links showing. If this was the way it was being towed, I doubt the hitch would provide any help in a sway situation.

Braking will exacerbate sway for sure.

Saw this AS at a Cracker Barrel off of I-81 in Harrisburg, PA yesterday, May 11, 2019. We tried find the owners, who had Georgia tags, to talk with them but were unable to find them before they left.

Safe journeys!
