My wife and I have been house shopping and across the street on one of the houses we looked at was an early Airstream parked. Believe it to be a late 40's or early '50 model. It looked to be in great shape. Hmmmmm, sounds like a nice neighborhood.

We've been looking all over north Phoenix. Probably looked at fifty houses or so and have only found a few that'll work for us. Our realtor calls us her "special needs kids."

Our friends were touring the southern States in their GMC MoHo in February and most of March and as they came up on a hill to head down into Joshua Tree National Park (I've never been there so don't know which direction) they were commenting to each other on how it seemed like they had come upon a moonscape and suddenly some ways out ahead of them glinting in the sun just like a lunar module (their words) was an Airstream trailer being towed. Whoever you are you certainly made their day.

They mentioned that they saw few Airstreams in campgrounds during their trip from Vancouver, BC to Mexico, up through AZ, CA, OR and WA but sure saw a lot of them being towed.

We saw what looked like a fairly new 28 - 30 footer Eastbound on Barnes Blvd. here in Rockledge FL headed toward US-1. We could hear ours whimpering in its storage lot when this one went by . We need to get back on the road!

They may have seen our good friend Uwe pulling his super polished 26' Overlander on his way back from a weekend boondocking with Goin camping and us at Cadiz Dry Lake near Joshua Tree.

That could very well be that's who they saw. He said it was highly polished and glowed like a mirror. Of course now they think mine should be polished to that state.....

Nary a one...

Over 600 miles into Canada and over 600 miles back and not a single Airstream sighting. There was a possible glimpse of what might have been an Argosy outside of Calgary, but it was just a blur on a SOB lot that I flew by at 120.

It is sad isn't it? When we lived in Calgary and south of it in Lethbridge we seldom saw Airstreams on the move (except Calgary in the early sixties at the Calgary Stampede when there were more Airstreams than I could count). I know of several sitting in yards and on farms but they are tucked away and seldom seen and for all the door pounding I did none were for sale. I know there's a couple on the forum who live in Magrath or area with one. Did you come up through the Crowsnest Pass or by Cardston/Glacier? It has been well over a year since we were back that way but I hear it has been one of the windiest in many years with semi's and RV's blown off the highway several times in the past four months.

We went thru Crowsnest Pass. Up to Calgary and then on to Edmonton. The first time we were up there (about 11 years ago) we went thru Glacier and Banff. That's some beautiful country thru there.
Spring break here for the kid's so what do we do, we head north where it was below zero and snowed everyday! but the kids had fun.

Saw an older model Sovereign or ambassador today on I-12 Westbound between Hammond and Baton Rouge. Was it you?
