Traveling west on 2 today from Marquette, Mi. Saw a Bambi in Crystal Falls, and another in Sunday Lake. Finally saw another in Deer River, an oldie and another Bambi.

Two in Michigan, one in Minnesota....

Saw one at Persimmon Hill campground at Enid Lake- a longish 1980-something that looked like it would be there for a while- had big plants and all at the campsite-

I saw lots of them this past weekend - vintage and current models (as appropriate) trailers, motorhomes, fifth wheels and square streams. There are about 27 that stay at the Airstream only Ponderosa Shadows RV Park at Lakeside, AZ. There were about five or six (like ours) that are on the road most of the time.

This morning, on our way to work, we spotted a late model Airstream heading north on the DC Beltway in Maryland near the US 50 exit, around 6:30-6:35. It was probably about a 27' trailer, no numbers, and I didn't get a good look at the tow vehicle other than to note there were some kayaks on the top of it (it was a Tundra or one of the mid-size SUVs - not a large pickup).

Older Tundras were little wimpy things.

While on the road for about 1500 miles, I sighted five Airstreams, two pictured here:

Passing through Allenwood, PA this morning and saw a nice '72 Overlander (?) parked in a lot. Looked like it was being used residentially, as it was hooked up to a big propane tank. Numbers: 17697

In season 1 of Under the Dome one of the characters goes up to an AS and pounds on the side. You can see the aluminum bending when she hit it.

I cringed when I saw that.

I wonder if the driver of the red truck with the newer AS realizes his door is open? I assume this is not a fancy new feature in modern AS.

We usually leave our door open too when parked at a rest area and are inside brewing up a pot of coffee .

Saw one headed south on 441 this afternoon about 15 mile north of I-75... Didn't catch what type as it was headed the other direction from me, and surprised me. I never see another Airstream around here, except when I drive past JD Sanders everyday, but new on the lot probably doesn't count. If it happened to be you, I was the idiot in the red VW Jetta, waving like a little kid...

We had a reverse sighting last time we were towing our AS. A nice young couple pulled up beside us, honking their horn. We looked down at them quickly, wondering what in the world might be going on. They were waving like mad, grinning from ear to ear, giving us big thumbs up and yelling, "Awesome trailer!"

Fun!
