Tonight's total at Ft. Pickens is up to four. My '69 TradeWind, the '07 Safari I mentioned previously, an '87 Excella that pulled in this morning, and a beautiful '62 TradeWind that came in this afternoon.

Pulled ours out on the first day of our 6 week trip. Left Dallas for Amarillo and got a thumbs up from an oncoming cop before we got on the freeway. Great start to the day. Crossed paths with an AS as it went southbound on 287 at 12:30 p.m. south of Childress. Crossed paths with a second one, that was a Classic, as it went southbound on 287 right at 2 p.m.
There was an old, sad one parked in a side lot in Childress. Had a For Sale sign on it if anyone is looking for a project. Needs lots of work.
Then we were surprised to see a fourth one in the overnight campground we parked at in Amarillo. Four AS in one day, how cool!

This beauty just pulled into Lake Gogebic State Park in the upper peninsula of Michigan. Looks beautifully restored on the outside. Dying to see the inside.

This amazing set up pulled into our campground yesterday here in Nebraska..we spoke with the owners-great people from California. Their 1956 airstream bubble has been featured in vintage airstream magazine.

3 sightings on Rt 50 in Nevada today, one sad
We're in the middle of the trans Nevada Route 50 leg of our cross country trip. Saw 2 AS heading east as we drove west. Time enough for light blinks and waves on the "loneliest highway". Outside of Fallon, we saw the burned remains of another AS. :-( According to local person, it happened this week. The truck pulling the trailer had gas containers in bed catch fire and spread to trailer. Hopefully the folks got out in time to save themselves.

That's who I saw in Salida 10 days ago. Nice pic. I had only barely seen them as I was driving by.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune has a big article in the "Homes" section today about Airstreams and the Minnesota AS Park.

Shenandoah Valley Campground
We spotted 3 AirStreams at the Shenandoah Valley Campground last week. We got pictures of two of them, but missed out on getting pictures of a mint 1960s. The two older Airstreams were owned by brothers.

Last week
When we got our AS back to the storage lot on Andrews AFB, we found two new AS, both are Safaris.

Sunday afternoon, about 1:30, mid 70s model about 24' heading south on 13 highway north of Springfield, MO. We were in the 1978 31' Sovereign with blue suburban tow vehicle. It was teh only one was saw, Now here in Liberal KS at Seven Winds RV Park, mostly full of construction workers, one other AS, a mid 80s 34 triple axle. With a toyota four runner parked in front of it, surely they don't tow with that! Good wifi here but hte flies bite hard!
