Airstream sightings

You know... I suddenly realized that over in the storage yard behind Cheek and Shockley is an airstream.... My airstream.... . All giddy.... I need to snap a photo over there - found that two storage sites over is another one; vintage as well.

Driving from San Diego to Orange County on I-5: I saw a new International 23' (I think) pulled by a beige GMC Yukon pulling off in Carlsbad at 1:45PM. Check in time at South Carlsbad State Beach park is 2:00PM---Must have been going there. (Caught in a photo). I also saw a 25' Safari towed by a white pickup going south on I-5 in San Clemente and finally a 25 or 27' being towed by a dark red SUV going south in Laguna Nigel.

Saw a fresh 16 foot Bambi - with the new AS white wrapping - west of Iowa City headed west.

Yesterday Saturday 4/12/14 went and did a run for a friend of mine down to exit 82 on I-26 in SC, on my way back mid morning almost noon I seen to different AS headed east while I was going west on 26, they was about 10 miles apart, both was 30 footers, only got a glance across the interstate so I did not catch what the tow vehicle looked like.

Starting late Saturday afternoon and ending Sunday around 6:30pm, I was towing the only Airstream moving as I drove from Paradise,TX on Highway 380 to US60 returning to Apache Junction, AZ. I did see several"vintage" units parked along the way and some were perhaps past the restorable phase and returning to bauxite.

While running I57 south on business today, about 100 miles SW of Chicago, I saw a 13 panel door-in-a-door running westbound on old Rt66 (they run parallel). A very nice polished...about 22'er being towed by a Pilot. I slowed down and ran alongside for awhile, just to admire it...the AS...not the

Yesterday afternoon on my way back to South Carolina from Alabama, caught a glimpse of an AS with wood grain belt line pulling into the Georgia welcome center on I-85. Had I noticed it a little quicker, I would have pulled in next to it with mine and said hello.

I would say that is a 1984 29' International or maybe Sovereign.

I agree 66overlander the one beside the road is an 84ish 29 but looks like it had a tarp over it for a long time and that tire will never be a good sub for a latch on the vent! Also looks like it is or has been lived in on site for a while.
