I saw a number of Airstreams while on the way here to the Balloon Fiesta rally.

Thursday 4 October:

On US287 NW-bound, spotted a late-model probably Safari, pulled by a gray Tundra stopped at a rest area near Decatur around 1 PM.

On US287 SE-bound, saw a big late-model trailer (possibly a Classic) towed by a Chevy or GMC truck around 4 PM, west of Quanah.

Friday 5 October:
In New Mexico on I40 East-bound, just before 9 AM, between Santa Rosa and Moriarty: Widebody mid-size (25? 27?) pulled by tall, black or dark blue 4WD pickup.

Thanks for the pics, Brad! I saw my first Vixen in the late spring/early summer driving through Saskatoon while I was on my way to work. Thank goodness it was early and there wasn't any traffic because I was swerving trying to get a good look at the name! I was smitten and immediately started doing research, and like that --(poof!)-- another obsession!! Sadly, I never caught the plates, nor was I able to talk to the owner.

As it was driving toward me, it looked like a big DeLorean. Through my research, I discovered I'm not the only one who thinks that. Now I'm on a quest for a Vixen. These pics made my day!

We were towing today...heading E on I-84.
We saw an unpolished late 70s/early 80s Airstream heading W on I-84 just inside the Conneticut border at about 4pm today (10/7/2012.) White tow vehicle (we think.) Guessing the trailer was 34'. Did you see us?

On my way home from the balloon fiesta rally, I saw a late model Bambi towed by a white GMC truck stopped at a gas station on US 84 in Sudan Texas at a ridiculously late hour.

My Father-In-Law had a Vixen. About 12 years ago he let us take it to the Grand Canyon. Before leaving he told me that it got 22 miles to the gallon and I thought to myself, "and I've got a bridge for sale . . . ", Sure enough it got 22 miles to the gallon . . . I remember everyone stared at us like we were driving a space ship from another planet.

I was coming home from a hunting weekend in Southern Indiana, headed eastbound on I-94 when I passed a 20-25' Safari or Sport... Didn't get a chance to see whether it had single or double axle, or the tow vehicle! Looked relatively new! I was towing my FC. Wish I had seen it sooner so I could have gotten a photo.

We saw SOMEDAY from Georgia

Freeport Maine, RV parking area Monday 10-8. Parking was limited and folks were double-parked in the small area. We had to slide in next to you. Beautiful rig. Great to see another A/S.
Spotted in Bucksport ME, 28'? heading south on Hwy 1. We were eating lunch at the scenic overlook.

I saw one Airstream at Desoto State Park in Alabama. The guy was from Selma, AL. I had a nice chat with him. He was in an 27 ft 87 Sovereign.

Green River, Utah

As we pulled off I-70 westbound to go to Green River, Utah (we're at KOA) we saw an older, 25-27' or so, Airstream pulled by a green or dark-colored crew/extended cab pickup pull onto I-70, eastbound, at the same exit. We exchanged greetings, etc! We flashed, we all waved!

Spotted in Truckee

In the CVS parking lot, a late model (approx 27') behind a Ford F-250, both with Idaho plates. Truck was loaded with kayaks and bikes...someone's had a lot of fun, or is off on a new adventure.

weekend before last, we woke up in the Lakeside KOA in Fort Collins to find about a dozen Airstreams and other small TTs had moved in overnight. here are a few of them:

I didn't post any of the non- shiny AS ones, but there were some cute little trailers there.

Just saw 6 or 7 airstreams parked at the RV park in downtown North Little Rock Arkansas which is located just across the Arkansas River from the Clinton Presidential Library. Wish I could have snapped a picture.

Watching Felix Baumgartner jump from space this morning - there were several shots on TV of his "trailer" where he suited up before the launch. Looked like a new, 30+ footer.

Downloaded pictures from the last trip and found this one of an absolutely stunning "Airfloat Navigator" at the KOA in Green River last Thursday - wonder if it was from Gringo's find in Ft. Collins, a few posts above. The picture doesn't do it justice - the sides shown like that rear end!

Just passed an Interstate pulling what looked to be a sailboat westbound on I20 in Monroe, Louisiana.

I honked and waved, but I'm incognito today, banished back to the 9 to 5 working mans blues.
