Hope this doesnt sound foolish!!
Still looking for an airstream for the family.
What I would like to ask is: most of the airstreams I have seen sleep 4. If I could get hold of a couple of the aluminium bunks( v, hopeful) would they fit in to a 1960's overlander or ambassador with the twin compartment??
Many thanks in advance and have a good weekend
A twin is a twin is a twin.
I am pretty darn sure that a bunk from just about any year will fit. I am too on the hunt for bunks so I can fit the 6 of us in my Ambassador.

Others on the Forum have built their own. Use the search feature on the menu bar above and take a look. I think I've seen plans for how to do this on the Forum with dimensions, etc.
Go and look at the pictures of my 63 trade Wind at http://photos.yahoo.com/richtrich you will see a factory pull down bunk on one side. It would be very easy to build something like it.
RichardT
Hello. I have a bunk in my 58 Sovereign of the road! It is curved years, not square like the 59 and on. A freind of mine, Colin Hyde of GSM Vehicles (Adirondack Airstream retorer) has a 59 Ambassador with both bunks. Mine is missing one, but it originally had two..and I plan on using one to make the other. Here is a picture if I can get it posted...Mine came from the Famous RichardT from Bat Cave below.....I can feel the Karma flowing!!!
