airstream barn find... anyone know what year/ model?
new to the forum, hello. Ive been trying to buy this airstream for many years now but likely getting close to actual purchasing soon. Owner believes its a 59 but needs to find the title (she said she has it somewhere) . Yeah well more of a "side of the barn find" than actual barn find. Cool none the less i have not seen a model in this size with two doors? Does anyone have more info on what this model / year this is? Sorry its covered by foliage these are the best photos i could get today.

The price is right i suppose. I am an automobile mechanic by trade and pretty handy with wood working and what not so i figure this needs to be saved and would be a nice thing to pass on to my children one day to take there families out to create memories in as i grew up with an airstream.

The panel segments don’t seem to match up with a 59. Looks more like a 57. The front sconce lights and circular ceiling light look identical to the ones that are in our 55. Hope to hear more about it. Good luck

With the Hehr windows and 13 panel endcaps its probably 57 or older. If that's a storage compartment behind the spare tire. It matches a 2 door 1954 Liner in the link below.

You have found a 1954 or 1955 Airstream made in the Ohio plant. The Hoof side marker lamps and other details narrow it to those years. I am guessing it is a 26' Cruiser or Overlander, not a 30' Liner or Sovereign as someone else suggested, though it is really had to be totally sure given the photos posted so far. It could also be 30'. I don't see 2 doors, but both 26' and 30' Airatreams from the 1950s have been seen with very rare double doors.
The trailer has few visible modifications, such as the non-original tail lamps, the Jalousie (louvered) window next to the door, and the roof locker cabinet above the front couch.
It looks like quite an extraction job that will require the careful cutting of trees so as to not damage the shell. Then it will be a major restoration project, if you are up for that.
Good luck!

Its not 30 foot, its much smaller with a single axle. Unfortunately a tree grew into the right rear area damaging it over the years just by growing. Im not sure how difficult it will be to get back as the rear door is affected and wont close. It just seems very odd to me such a small trailer has double doors, almost as one was added. If the trailer is hacked up for another door im not sure its worthy of the effort to restore but if its a rare model i would like to save it. Included is a few pictures of the last "extraction" unfortunately that one ended with finding out the frame was gone in the middle and it crumbled in half when moving it. It donated its parts to others around the world.

I'm curious what this is going to cost to purchase. I ran across a '76 Land Yacht last week in SE Missouri that is for sale. It was caught in the river flooding three years ago so the interior is trashed. Needs total gut job but the shell appears to be in really good condition. The owner is asking $1800.

At this point it appears as it will cost me nothing for the trailer.

If it is a single axle, it is not 30' as those all came as tandems. I would guess that is it then most likely a 1954 or 1955 26' Cruiser, in which case the serial number stamped into a small plate near the front door should be O4XXX. If it instead is a 1955 26' Overlander, the SN would be O7XXX. If a 30', it would be O5XXX, and if a 22' Flying Cloud, it would be O3XXX, though I have never seen a double door 22' and the trailer in the photos looks more like 26' than 22'. Note that the lengths mentioned include the tongue and bumper, so the body would be ~2' to 3' shorter, so you might perceive a 26' Cruiser as a 23' or 24' trailer, especially if the tongue and bumper are buried in the weeds.

With a WBCCI number of 13852 it seems it was used/registered fairly recent.

Honestly i did not know they counted bumper and tounge in length. But it feels like a 22ft trailer inside me. I will check serial numbers when i get back in contact with the owner and go back over to it. In peoples opinions much more knowledgeable on airstreams is this a project worth while undertaking? Or is it too far gone? I guess i will have to take the complete trailer condition into account after moved. Also shal i be worried about the frame? Its been in the dirt a long time. My thinkings is to pull it out. Get the wheels freed and the hitching system working then putting new tires on the wheels and towing it hom (approx 5 miles)

WBCCI #13892 (not 13852) was first assigned in the mid 1960s. It may or may not have been reassigned in the decades since then. When I get some time, I could look up that number to see who it was assigned to and whether they are credited with any caravans.
