Airstream Admirer

My sister-in-law and I are in the market for an Airstream Travel Trailer. We've been looking for one on the west coast, less than 30 feet, with hopes of fixing one up and taking our family on the road. I've read alot of information online and found many websites informative, including this one.....now it's time to take the plunge. We found a '67 Overlander, looks to be in good shape, rear bath with a double in the middle, original appliances, the toilet was replaced. They say everything's in working order.....help....this looks like a good choice for us, but I'm not even sure what to ask. They're asking $6,300.00. Any advice would be appreciated.....thanks.

Where on the West Coast? I would gladly assist you if it's not too far from me.

Welcome to the Forum!

Sounds like you would benefit from a checklist. Here's a good thread that should help.

BTW, you happen to have found the best year & model of Airstream ever made

I would take UWE up on the offer, or search for a member who is close enough to help if he is too far...it will save a lot of grief to have an experienced As person check it for you. Not to be scared off, but there are a lot of things you might not think to check yourself, unless you are fairly mechanically oriented.

Katshakas, I'll be selling my 1967 Tradewind 24' in August. You can PM me if you'd like details. Not sure where you are, I'm in the Ft. Worth area.

You may also want to check this thread out for volunteers who may be able to help out in Oregon...

Darn, I was just down there last week - I would have been glad to help.

Tin Hut, what do you mean your selling the tradewind? What's up?

Ooops. a bit far for me to go with you. I am 15min away from you.
You can still come visit with me, and we can go over my trailer so I can show you what to look for. Please PMme if you're interested.
$ 6300.00 for a very nice Overlander seems very reasonable.
I pesoanlly love the Tradewind/Overlander size. A good choice for travel and short to medium stays, as long as your family is not too big.
