Air Pump Recommendation?
My memory is that I read a good AS Forum report for the Ryobi cordless air pump (see pic below).
After leaving the trailer at the storage lot, we were readying (my Pennsylvania relatives would say, 'red-up') the trailer for a trip. Checked the AS tire pressure. All were about 65lbs.
Tried to inflate them to 80lbs with the Ryobi air pump. Too slow, used up fully charged battery on 1 tire (I have 2 batteries but not enough for 4 tires), and I only inflated to 73lbs.
Had to go to truck stop for air--wait in line for semi-trucks to get fuel. The truck driver behind me was frustrated that I was in the commercial truck lane even though I finished filling my tires much quicker than the trucks finished fueling (first time I had a CDL approach me while in a fuel line).
So, does anyone have a recommendation for an air pump that is powerful enough for 80lbs, runs on DC, and has cable/cord of sufficient length to reach the tires or is cordless? Seems simple enough. Just looking to top-off the tires, not inflate an new tire) I look forward to your recommendations.

Nope. A 2018 flying cloud 27 (OP’s trailer) came equipped with 15” goodyear endurance and airstream will stamp 80psi as the inflation requirement on the placard. This is max psi for the GYE 15”. I have a bigger trailer and never run near 80psi but if you want to strictly adhere to max PSI recommended by AS then 80psi it is…….

The ViAir is heavy. If you are near payload limits, maybe you need to consider other options.
80 psi is a stiff ride for your trailer, as I understand it.

I got this one last year, and so far have been very impressed with it: DEWALT 20V MAX Cordless Tire Inflator (Combined with this battery pack.)
Not the cheapest, but very well-made and full-featured. I've owned at least a half dozen pumps like these over the years, and this one is the first I've been so happy with that I would unquestionably recommend it.

Being part of the Makita Battery Tribe I bought one of these. Great for towing off the trailer tires, filling bikes etc. would probably take a week to actually fill a tire. I like it a lot.

Both the Makita and DeWalt look good. At three pounds they are much lighter than the ViAir.
The DeWalt accommodates 12v DC, 120V AC, and the 20v DeWalt battery. I accidentally joined the DeWalt tribe due to a gift, but once I hit the three-tool threshold, there was no turning back.
I don’t mind waiting a bit while the compresor tops off a tire as long as they can get it done before overheating. So I guess that’s the question…can they add 10# to a tire already inflated to 60# or 70# without shutting down? Besides, I rarely have to add air to a tire while on the road, and at home I have the luggable monster compressor.
I ordered the DeWalt and will test it using each of its power sources.

The Makita will automatically shut down when it reaches pressure. But you do have to hold the trigger as it does not lock. One of the gripes on the Amazon reviews. I’ve not found it to be a problem.

The DeWALT 20V cordless tire inflator inflated a trailer tire from 64 psi to 74 psi in 2.5 minutes. For me that is plenty quick for topping off the pressure. I didn't have to open up the battery case, assemble the parts from the bag, etc. So all in, the DeWALT is far quicker. I'm already carrying two DeWALT cordless drills (angle drill for the 3P jacks and the stabilizers, impact drill for repairs), a couple of 20V batteries, and one charger.
I didn't bother testing with the more cumbersome power sources.
At ~18.8 pounds the VIAIR is luggable. Whereas the DeWALT weighs ~5.4 pounds and $99, half the price of the VIAIR 400P. The DeWALT is easy to store in the outside compartment of the AS, far in the back in a spot that is hard to get in/out with something weighing 18 pounds.
Maybe if I needed to inflate truck tires after off-roading, the VIAIR would make more sense. It will be interesting to see how the DeWALT holds up.

Hi
A lot of this depends on what you plan on doing.
If you carry a tire repair kit and plan on re-inflating the truck or trailer tires from "dead flat", that's a lot of pumping.
If you like to play on the beach and drop the truck down to 4 to 8 pounds when you do ( yikes ....) the pump will get a massive workout bringing things back up to highway pressures.
I would suggest that finding *all* the tires at 65 pounds when the spec is at 80 likely means they were set that way. If they all leaked down from 80 to 65 ( or if even one of them did) that suggests a closer inspection of the tires is needed. They may be ready for replacement .....

Yup. It depends on what your needs are.
I think the DeWALT could pump a tire from zero to highway pressure. All four...probably not. It cannot reseat the bead but neither can the VIAIR.
I don't deflate my TV tires for the beach or off-roading.
So for me, the DeWALT is enough but not too much. I wish I had made the right decision for my situation the first time, but I didn't. C'est la vie. The VIAIR will stay at home unless I'm doing some seriously remote boondocking.
