43 more days until we start the drive to NJ

Not that I'm counting down or anything.....

43 days and we leave Phoenix and begin the drive to NJ to get our Airstream. Almost all the "goodies" have been delivered, the truck is ready to go, the dog has her new Airstream shirt ready to wear, the kids will be on spring break....and we'll be off!

To say I'm excited is a bit of an understatement.

Why in the world would you drive all the way from AZ to NJ?

Surely there are AS dealers closer.

Disclaimer: We too, drove all the way to NJ (towing our old AS) and back with our new one.

Congrats!

We visited our local dealer but we were not at all impressed. We heard good things on this forum about Colonial, and when we looked at their inventory, they had the exact model we were looking for.

We bought it, and over the last few weeks the service department has been adding items we've bought and shipped to them or things they had in stock (like a bike rack). They've been great - they deserve their excellent reputation!

But, it's NJ, so we're waiting for good weather before we make the long trek back. Luckily, we all love to drive.

That's unfortunate. If you need warranty repairs later, where will you take it? I don't need to know, but it is something you should consider.

With the way the weather is going back east you may have to wait until kids get out of school otherwise you could be towing in snow and ROAD SALT!

Yes, I am worried about this! I'm hoping they have an early spring, so we can still go on March. That's a dicey time! Meanwhile we keep picturing our poor AS covered in snow and ice. 👎
