31ft classic with FREE standing dinette....

Has anyone had one of these? i have seen some pictures but i was wondering if anyone has owned one or been in one.
seems to me like there would be lots of room to move things around and maybe put in a piece of your own furniture if you placed the table at the end of the track away from the sofa.

as a single person... i would only have the 2 chairs so the room on the other side of the table to the sofa would make the space very open.

just thought i would ask if anyone has got one of these rare birds.

thanks

i dont have a picture of it but if you look at the current brochure its under the classic 31 ft. in the floorplan diagram.

its not a dinette booth.... its a free standing table and chairs.
just like you would have in your house.

they offer this as an option if you want to order the 31 foot classic.
it might be on the airstream website in the floorplan section.

they are very rare. thats why i was asking about it.

annied, most any tt you can take out the both and put in a table and chairs. that is what we will do when we get ours. good luck and your finding the right AS. also, at least get a 3/4 ton truck to haul with. enjoy

yes i have heard that people can do that but i was just curious about that airstream model. i bet that hickory table looks real pretty.
wish i could see a picture of it. LOL
in all the airstreams i have looked at.... i have never seen THAT particular model.

i dont know what AS i will wind up with but i am definitely taking my time to make sure i get the right thing.

Hi Annie. I have seen one of these and it has room galore. You can slide that dinette from the couch to the fridge or probably remove it from its sliding track. With that double closet you may not miss the storage from the conventional booth dinette model from under the dinette (and above?)

HEY thats GREAT! thanks for the picture. that looks like its from an older unit. i dont think its hickory wood.
anyway....i know you can take out the table. maybe you could put your own in there if you wanted to. and then maybe your own storage containers. i like the open space.
if you are one person.... the dinette booth takes up alot of space.... that extra room could be used for other things.

thinking about it is giving me the decorating bug. LOL

thanks SOOO much for your picture and comments.
i'll have to see what i turn up.

One other thing I have heard of is removing only one side of the booth dinette... the side closet to the couch. That would be a nice way to have a desk and a free standing chair while keeping the storage under the bench seat next to the fridge. It still allows you plenty of flexibility and there are many older models for sale that meet that criteria and save you a lot of money and a huge depreciation hit should you find you want to make a change. You could experiment with a used model, sell it, and then order your new Airstream after you field tested the floorplan and know your preferences.
