I had heard rumors that the Globetrotter will have the Alde radiant heat system. Can anyone confirm? Also...be curious to know if there's a material weight savings, especially tongue weight.

Probably have to wait until the 14th on the tongue weight but looking through the pictures it has a ducted forced hot air furnace. It's the silver switch looking things that have my curiosity...

Those slots behind the sink look very much like the ice "bucket" slot on the Tommy Bahama we just purchased. They have a drain hole in the bottom that leads to the grey tank I believe. Maybe?

Little too much white: cabinets, curtains, counters and upholstery. Those lift up white cabinet doors are massive. Visually disturbing.

I do however like the wood. It's just not served well by all the white.

I'd like to see the other two Globetrotter models.

Agreed. Maybe its something you have to see in person to appreciate. I’ll stick with my serenity decor

The crib style bumper pads at the head of the bed & behind the dinette is horrible..and i still havent figured out the slots behind the faucet. Maybe will look better in person?? too much white for camping.

Interesting that most seem to not like the Globetrotter decor. To us it's the only Airstream decor we might consider other than the Classic. Of course, we're not fans of a rear door front queen floor plan, so we'd have no interest unless they added a 30' front door rear twin model. That said, we love our Classic, so won't be changing, but we do like the Globetrotter decor. I guess that's 1 like vs. many dislikes, but I doubt they'll have any troubles selling them.

Thanks again for the link—interesting choices. Few things that caught my eye: glad they figured out it’s best to put the city water inlet above the black tank flush (about to quit using mine that’s right above the city water inlet), the bath looks downright luxurious compared to our corner bath with a pedestal-type toilet & that shower looks big. I think I could dig a split bath one day when we don’t need a trailer with bunks.

We visited Haydocy this past Saturday to look at new International Serenity models (we were planning to buy a 2018 23 ft. corner bed model but have since changed our minds) and they had the new Globetrotter out on display. We went inside to look around and when we came out a salesman told us that Airstream had just contacted them to tell them they had to take it out of viewing. Apparently they jumped the gun. I told him maybe he could throw a big tarp over it. Cat got out!

RV Pro just provided some details on the Globetrotter:

Seems to be yet another "special" like the Tommy Bahama, based on what I read here:

Hi

When I saw the "designed in the UK" part of the ads my first question was - is it a wide body or a narrow body? The 8.5' wide "US" approach apparently is not very compatible with roads in Europe ....

It's "European Inspired", not designed.
Still a fat-boy.

Patrick's video (on Colonial's YouTube channel) had a notice that the trailer shown is $109K as shown. Yikes!

When I was at the factory at the first of this month, they had quite a few of them on the line or parked outside.

Only 1 model so far, 27FB.

We saw it in person this week. We've had two Internationals and we like the modern look so I was excited to see this in person.

We did like the new "wood" colors for the cabinets. The cabinet space is used well and there seems to be more storage in the kitchen than before. The square sink was also a nice feature. The LED lights are now warm which I like much better than the cold blue tones we've always had. There is a little shelf behind the cushions that allow a place to set a drink. That doesn't show well in photos I've seen.

What I did not like at all was the flooring. The model we looked at was almost white and very textured with small holes. Dirt will get trapped and I can't imagine trying to keep it clean. Also not a huge fan of the overhead bins.

Worst feature is the MUCH SMALLER freezer. It's only half the size of our current freezer in our 25'. Missed the mark there in my opinion!

It will certainly be interesting to see how these sell!

Did you figure out what the two holes are for behind the kitchen sink?

Why in the world would they go with a smaller refrig than in the other 27 footers??? 6.7 cu. ft. vs 7.0.
