Very sorry to hear about this. Theft is on my mine quite a bit. This is a wake up call for me. I need to address this soon.

I would say if your trailer was towed any distance at all, hundreds to thousands saw it. Some may have taken pictures of it. During a trip up north a few weeks ago my wife and noticed a very old AS being towed by a somewhat old pickup. We took turns passing each other during the trip and finally had a chance to see this Beauty up close at a roadside rest. It was the center of attention as a lot people looked at it and even took pictures of it. My point here is to say, if it was flat towed, a lot of people noticed it. Even over the road truckers notice Airstreamer's as we travel across the country. I've had truckers come up to me at truck stops to say how much they like my trailer. I'm not sure of how you could contact the over the road truckers but they may recall seeing your AS. You would think they have forums that connect them to each other. It may be worth joining one of their forums to post pictures of your missing AS. Good luck my friend!!!

So sorry for your loss! When I read your post, it reminded me of an ad I saw last weekend in the local paper that seemed odd at the time. Not saying it's yours, but would be happy to send to you. I'm new here as well - can a person do a private message?

Sorry BUT most likely in a shipping container so you cant see it. Customs might see it if they have info and it goes out of county. If shipped in county good luck.
Just hope they are not pro's and keep it on the road in CA where someone might see it.

Smile Airstream recovered!

Located in Yucca Valley in a backyard by an eagle-eyed person
and rescued this morning! A shady situation for sure but happy ending.
Thief was a convicted felon / safecracker / higher profile thief.
Thank you everyone for the kind words and advice.
Towed her to a secure storage facility until my fences are fixed.
I will be beefing up security and installing a GPS unit buried deep
within the innards to keep track of her.
Now it's time to plan the restorations and make her sing.
Thank you again!

Oh my gosh....so glad this has a good ending. I was getting ready to say post it on facebook. That type of story goes viral really quick within the airstream groups.

Have A look at spot track, you can order a power cord and tie into the 12Volt
power works well.

Congratulations!

Did he really think he was hiding it back there?

A convicted felon...not surprising, as it takes some b---s to do what he did.

Not a man who has learned from the consequences of his behavior.

Back to the big house for him.

Start a new thread on her, once she is set up again, and let us know what you do and how you enjoy her....we will want to follow this story.

Maggie

People suck! I hate thieves!!!! I found an AS Overlander on an "abandoned" property in Southern NM, and I took the trouble of looking up who owned the lot, and didn't even walk on the property until I located the owner through tax records and got permission. I found out the property was part of their grandfather's estate. The owner lived out of state. I offered to buy the AS from them, and I was in the final negotiations with them when someone stole it. I was following the law and some ass decided to steal it. Couldn't believe it. I had to call them to ask if they came and picked it up, and that's when they realized it was stolen. I told them to file a police report.

Congratulations. I knew it wouldn't take long to find it if it was being towed somewhere. It's hard to hide something like that.

Good luck with your future plans for that beauty!!!

Can I ask how many miles away it was found?

Glad you got her back. I was thinking about buying some land in Joshua Tree and putting my AS there too.

Yucca Valley and Joshua Tree are less than 10 miles apart.
