Roof sealing

This is a new 2023 Flying Cloud 28. Pictures of roof bolts. These bolts secure the railing on the roof. Should these bolts be exposed with no sealant? Would appreciate someone looking at their roof and commenting.

Are those rubber washers under the metal washer? Looks similar to how metal roofs are attached to buildings with neoprene washers to make the seal.

You're probably OK with the rubber washers but it wouldn't hurt to seal it with Sikaflex or something similar.
Just curious, was the awning factory or dealer installed?

BTW mine are all sealed.

Our 2005 Intl roof and rails just got a resealed after adding 400watt Solar.
Original factory sealant was dabbed on each rail rivet so we did the same after scraping old off and acetoning surface… but this time using the superior Sikaflex 715.

I'm wondering if Airstream maybe changed the way they're fastening the rails onto the roof. The fasteners look more substantial to the ones used in the past - mine are just #8 stainless sheet metal screws. These look to be larger and they have rubber gasketed washer heads. Regardless, you can easily add a bit of sealant/caulking to each one if you want to do the belt & suspenders thing. Just choose a product that won't negatively affect the rubber gasket.

We have an AS classic. Has anyone had the flex armor product applied to their roof? If so any feedback?
