Mystery roof panel

Does anybody know what this is? We just bought this AS and have been going over it with a fine tooth comb and do not know what this is. The panel in question is approximatley 14" long by 4" wide and looks to by fastened from the inside out. It sets under the antenna frame work but the antenna does not rest on it. I find no reference to this panel in the manual. The ceiling inside looks like factory original headliner. The panel is noted in the photo with the words "This Panel" on it. Click on the attachment to view the photo.

I'm pretty sure we have one, too. I have no idea what it is, either.

It looks like a potential leak to me. What year and model is the trailer?

Grounding plate for a now gone antenna?

I am about to put one on my roof for a data card antenna.

I don't think so - the batwing antenna is there, and that's the only antenna up there. Radio antenna is at the traditional location: on the side near front corner. I don't know what they would have removed. Ours is too old to have things like satellite radio stock (I just added it), for example. It may be some sort of ground plate for the TV antenna, but it's odd that the antenna doesn't even touch that plate.

I'm hoping to climb up there this weekend to install something, so I'll take a closer look at ours and verify (a) we have one, and (b) see if I can figure out what it is.

I guess I failed to add the info such as year and model. It is a 2002 Bambi and you are right it looks like a good place for a leak.

I expect the antenna has been changed out and they plate covers the old hole but I am speculating. Andy of Inland RV might be of better help since he has seen the whole spectrum of units from old to new.

Okay, on ours, that metal is part of the rack for the TV antenna - the antenna doesn't lay flat on the roof like yours does.
