I know white cap

Anyone have any idea what this is on the roof of my new 2020 IS 30RB?

Maybe a pre-wire for something? Looks like the wifi logo on there.

Edit: Argh, iPhone. The title should be “Unknown white cap”.

Now that hat you mention it that is slightly reminiscent of the SiriusXM logo, but I’d expect they wouldn’t miss an opportunity to put their full name on something, and unfortunately the new JL Audio MM50 head unit they’re installing in the International doesn’t have satellite radio.

I’ve got the JL, not Furrion. No WiFi on my radio. Maybe they screwed up and installed it on the wrong trailer!

I concur with the antenna comments. But I believe an aluminum or plastic collar should have been mounted around it that would cover the putty/silicon they used. Sort of messy the way they did it. You could make your own collar out of aluminum by drilling a center hole to fit over the center piece. Drill and mount rivets in a circle to secure. Would look a lot nicer if aesthetics are important...

I would be concerned about it collecting water if it is on your roof.

I would check with your dealer and have them correct it at it looks like a mistake.

I'm really not concerned about water on it or appearance (it's on the roof, you can't see it). I just want to confirm what its doing on my trailer before I put a solar panel on top of it.

Could that be the antenna for the AS connect system?

The orientation makes the image look recessed. How about this?

That is in fact the correct orientation. Thanks!

It's right next to the fantastic fan if that helps anyone.

SoI think it's the AM/FM antenna, though I think it's awfully short for that. There's no tall antenna for the radio on mine like previous year AS's have had.

If it is an antenna of some sort, which appears to be the case, are you risking losing reception to whatever it is connected to if you cover it with a solar panel? Just a thought.

What is located beneath that device on your trailer? It might give a clue as to function.

Nothing, just empty ceiling space.

did you ever figure it out?

I'm looking at the same thing on my Basecamp 20X, but I have no radio or other antenna/electronics, so all of the suggestion for that make no sense for my Basecamp. Did you ever determine what it was?

I did not. It’s been covered by a solar panel since April and I haven’t worried about it.

My best guess is that it’s a port for the Airstream Connected antenna. They’ve probably pre-run wiring in the newer trailers for it.
