2007 25FB maintenance for roof?

HI all,

Just got our 2007 25FB which was kept clean but it's questionable how meticulous the previous owners were about yearly maintenance.

We're currently working on fixing our floor rot/rear panorama window/belt line trim.

It's about to snow and I want to be sure we're totally ready for winter & our uncovered storage situation. Looking for information on roof maintenance, warning signs, how-tos but am mostly seeing posts regarding older trailers.

Am I:

a) looking with my butt (as my mom used to say when I couldn't find something right in front of me)? - if so...please help and send me a link to how-tos?

b) all set because a 2007 trailer that has been in Colorado/very dry climate since 2010 is far from need of sealing, fixing of the roof and, therefore, no one has posted their process?

c) Need to be doing something but no one has posted...if so, any pointers & detailed instruction? I will photograph and document my process so there IS a thread for later model year trailers.

Thanks!

You need to look at the seams to see if they have remained sealed. After five years, there are probably some gaps that would benefit from scraping clean and refilling with Acryl-R.

You also need to look at all of the sealing around roof penetrations. The drain stack vent caulking around my waste pipe vent had a huge gap in it and the antenna and front vent needed resealing too. Forget what sealant is used there. (Not silicone - that's bad.)

Read through some posts in this blog, especially the ones tagged "maintenance." Bill does a great job documenting stuff, especially the care and upkeep of his Safari.
