Rear frame bumper distance

Does anyone know how many inches the frame rails extend from rear of trailer? I need to cut my rails and install my new bumper. As of right now the rails are sticking out pretty far. I have a 72 safari airstream. Don’t know if that matters or not. I’m not planning to use the back bumper as storage.

Do you have the aluminum hatch?
I have a ‘77 Safari, I can take measurements tonight.

Nope no hatch or bumper, when I got the airstream the back rails were rusted out and PO cut them off. When I redid my bathroom floor I replaced them and got a used slightly bent airstream bumper. Thanks for taking measurements for me.

Good luck with the bumper,
Be careful, aluminum might crack
