Bumper compartment lid
We have a 2018 TT 27 foot and have experienced repeated problems with the bumper lid rubber cover peeling off. It’s the gray rubber that says Airstream, see pic during warranty we had the factory try to fix it within a year it was coming off again.Any ideas out there? Thanks

Maybe some clear silicon will keep it down? Or silkaflex?

Replace it with one from Aqua Marine deck. I’ve had them for years without issue.

did you fix that rubber
Hi, i have the same prob on my '19, T.B. 27'. The rubber logo mat is pulling up from all sides, i would like to re-glue it.
purchased from orig owner and AS informed her it was a factory mess-up??
Did you find a suitable glue / solution for your mat? i would like to fix mine, but i'm sure that a special glue or epoxy is needed. apparently AS did not use a suitable product to correct the problem. Do you know what they used?
appreciate any help,
thanks!!

Try Gorilla Glue's Heavy Duty Construction Adhesive found at hardware store everywhere.

It does, and is almost a little foamy in my experience.
I think if I were going to use gorilla glue, I would get a piece of wood that covers it length and width-wise and clamp it down, or place bricks or something heavy all along it to limit the expansion of the glue.

Good stuff but I dislike the fact it expands.

Not sure if the Gorilla Glue you are talking about is the same stuff that woodworkers use, but when I had my wood shop we did some testing with the stuff and found that it was not nearly as strong as other adhesives out there.
The foaming action helps Gorilla Glue bond across small gaps, but it also causes a weaker joint. There are other adhesives out there which are non-foaming and have higher strength.

I would probably glue it down or use 3M tape and add some rivets with stainless steel washers. It's not remotely close to being a water tight area.

I love the looks of your bumper upgrade/fix, but I cannot find this specific deck on the Aqua Marine Deck website. I think this fix would look much better than any additional glue or adhesive trying to fix the OEM Airstream deck. Any help in finding this solution would be much appreciated!

May I ask what you ordered and in what measurements? So many pads on the website and don’t see yours. Thanks.
