Removing the belly pan

Need help!! How hard is it to remove the belly pan and reinstall if its in good condition and what tools and supplies should i gather for the job including the reinstall? I have a 1973 29' Ambassador that i just bought and i really need to do a rear frame inspection. Any help would be much appreciated.Thx

I'm not sure on a 73, but the flat metal under the belly should unrivet, just drill out the pop rivets with the appropriate drill bit. With in-belly tanks be really careful where you drill and how deep. Biggest worry to me is what is in the belly pan. I've never opened up a belly pan that wasn't full of dirt, mouse droppings, and who knows what else, and if you remove it be prepared for what will come out.

An 1/8 drill bit will work for.some. a cold chisel and hammer works real well, but you will widen some holes. VTS sells rivets for reinstalling belly pan that have a broad head for beter holding.. Do wear eye protection and some type of mask to prevent inhalation of dust and other nasty stuff.
