Question on underbelly hole
I am getting a 79 Ambassador ready for the road after a long sit. I was inspecting the undrerbelly and there is a aprox 1 in by 6 in rectangle hole about a foot from the front where a spare tire would install. It looks like the area was covered by another AL plate aprox 4 in by 7 in was riveted on. The plate is gone leaving an open hole. Would this have been a screened vent? I have photos but I am not sure how to post?

My 77 Sovereign has the same hole but has a screen there. I believe it is a vent for the original Univolt.
