I am about to install a new section of belly pan to my 69 safari and at one time I found a tread here on how one person working alone was able to manage their installation. Can anyone point me to that thread OR does anyone have any suggestions on how to hold the skin in place while making the connections i.e. rivets and such? Thanks.
I put mine back on alone on a 31' Sovereign. I used 2 x 4's the width of the frame and small scissor jacks in a few areas to push it up against the frame to align it and to hold it while I secured it. Fairly simple. If you don't have scissor jacks, you can just cut strips of wood that will fit between the 2 x 4's and ground to wedge it in place. Then rivet it up.

Another thing you can do to facilitate this effort is to use the old belly pan pieces as a template, and pre-drill the holes in the new piece. This way all you have to do is line up the holes and pop in the rivets, rather than trying to hold up a fresh sheet, drill a hole in it and the frame, and then put in the rivet.
Klekos really, really help. They don't make it easy, but they really help if used in conjunction with Sneakinup's method. Beleghel is correct of course, but I was never able to achieve that level of accuracy or confidence in my pre-drilling. All I achieved was extra holes in the wrong places.
