I am working towards finishing up the belly pan and wraps on my 71 Safari after completely removing the shell and recently joining the frame and shell back together. I thought I had taken photos prior to removal of the banana wraps at the rear ( I had at the front) so I do not have anything to go by.
At the front the wraps go under the skins and I thought it should be the same at the rear but I can’t seem to make that fit properly.
Could it be that at the rear they were over the skins and not underneath? Seems that would be a negative towards waterproofing.
Thanks in advance for any information and advice you have.
Ted
Over is fine. You should also have memory marks on the corner segments indicating such. Just run a thin bead of sealant on top of the seam, under the belt line moulding, it'll work great
