So I'm doing a full Monty on a '57 Custom, and I'm going to completely replace the belly pan. I'm putting new tanks in and I don't want them to stick below the belly pan. The problem is there are no 4" deep black tanks. I could have one made for $1000, but that seems a little pricy. Inca has a tank that is 3 1/4" on one side and tapers down to 5" on one corner - that's 1" below the frame. My question is, do you think it would be possible and just fine to have a bulge in the belly pan to cover the tank?
Mount the black tank above the floor. The commode will sit on it and the extended length, if you have it, can be hidden under a cabinet or sink. It is a common installation.

Yes it's ok if you are comfortable with it. I ran into the same issue and made custom mounts for the belly pan. It's on the bottom and no is probably gonna get under there anyway so I'm ok with the mod.
