Step Diagram [emoji2]

I'm posting this to hopefully save others from frustration. I found this schematic this morning on High Sky RV Parts' website. Click image for larger version

They sell indivual parts to repair your steps. I wish I'd found this before wasting most of my afternoon yesterday. I spent a couple of hours (!) reattaching my steps to the frame. It was like solving a puzzle because I failed to take pictures before removing them months ago. My silliest mistake was installing the little spring wires upside down. Happily they are working well now.

I'm making a mental note to check supplier's websites in future when I find myself flummoxed. They can be treasure troves of helpful information.

You can find this and many other helpful diagrams in the parts manual for your trailer. You can download this from the A/S web site.

Out of Doors Mart also has a diagram like this with the part numbers as well. They sell everything you need but step parts are pricey...

Thanks for the heads-up, but in the 1981 manual, it's a nope. I have the original owner's manual. There is no steps diagram. '81 was a weird year, with Thor partnering with Airstream. My manual is actually a 1980 with '81 supplemental pages added.

I went on the Airstream website & checked out the 1990 manual. It's three times longer than my manual, with much more detailed info.

My takeaway is that when I need detailed schematics, I will also search the newer year manuals online. Sure, some things have changed in Airstreams through the years, but so much more has stayed the same.

Yep, they sure are! I'm happy that I didn't need to replace anything.

Sorry - I didn't notice the year/model. Nope, no parts manual for you. But you're right about A/S parts - a lot of them don't change very much over the years.

n2916s - priciness depends on the part and the source, I guess. I needed to replace a couple of nuts, bolts, and washers on our steps. Colonial wanted $44 for parts and $12 for shipping. Home Depot wanted $4.47 after tax!
