Photo of folding steps please
I suspect that a second fold down step is missing on my 1976 ARGOSY.
I can’t figure out how to configure a new one.
Can somebody please post a photo so that I can figure out how to build one?
Many thanks,
Sergei

Sergei, the Argosy 24 only had a single step. It can be a bit tall if you end up with a slope away from the door. Made worse by the fact that such a campground would require blocks under the curb side wheels and thereby raising that side of the trailer. A couple of yellow blocks and you've got a pretty big step.
Carrying a small step is easy and serves lots of other useful purposes; putting bikes up on the rack of the van, opening the awning, etc. We carry a tool box that doubles as a step stool. We have another tool box we keep in the house that can be used as a step but the top also comes of and can be used separately as a step. Might buy another or start taking that one camping. I'd feel OK leaving a plastic step stool out when I'm not watching it but I worry sometimes about the tools.

They are not cheap, but they are available, so that you have a "double footstep" as shown in the photo.

Thanks Rodriguez, Bernie and Andy.
The bolt holes on my step make me think another step either once was or can be there.
I might be able to have somebody copy the aluminum step in steel but it will probably cost as much as buying the parts from Jackson Center. I’ll call Ohio to se how much.
A aluminum stool would be cool, especially if it’s like the ones VIA here and AMTRAK in the States use.
Here’s Ching Mei, once arriving at a nearby train station to visit the trailer:

Sergei,
Is your step aluminum or steel?

Grant,
Steel.
Maybe, when I go home this weekend, I can make a print of the exploded parts that Aage sent us and have Wiltsie estimate what it would cost to biuld an extension.
Is yours steel too? I can't remember.
Perhaps one of us should phone JC for a price as well. Buying might be cheaper than building.

half a step
My 1972 Land Yacht is missing the bottom step. To me, it's not worth replacing. I have a more serious problem: what is left does not move in or out. Right now, it is kind of jammed in half way.
On the forward side of the step there is a little handle that kind of jiggles up and down a bit but seems to do nothing to influence either releasing or locking the step in place.
Clearly, I need to take the thing apart, figure out why it is not working, and fix it. Not quite sure where to start.
The leveling jack just forward of the step is gone. The previous owner tells me that it was so badly bent that he simply removed it. I suspect that the same incident that destroyed that jack might have also damaged the step -- maybe that is where the bottom half of the step went.
The upper single step that is left is not obviously damaged and seems to be centered beneath the door. But maybe someone just bent it back in place and there are damaged components within the body of the trailer?
I could use some help figuring out how to get started.
Many thanks!

I'd start by removing the wrap in front of and behind the step in order to see what's going on. It could just be bound up due to rust on the outriggers. Once I had taken mine apart, cleaned everything up and painted it I could just push down on the lever and the step would slide out on it's own into the correct position. I added low-friction washers to the bolts between the step parts and the outrigger to help it slide more easily.
The bottom step was an option, so your trailer might never have had one. I wondered about getting one for our Sovereign, but after using the trailer for a summer I don't see a need for it.
