How to replace the step release

The step release casting (100298) on my 2019 25FB cracked while boondocking over some rough roads and I'm having trouble figuring out the best way to replace it.

Attached is the parts diagram showing the bolt + step spring (0440032).

The challenge is the bolts need to be threaded through the spring from the cavity behind the underbelly aluminum which is all but sealed off sans a tiny opening.

It seems like my only option is to cut a hole in the aluminum so that I can get sufficient access and then try to patch the underbelly with a new sheet of aluminum (or remove each underbelly section entirely and re-rivet). Am I missing anything, or is this my only option?
