What were the nameplate colors?

I will soon be wanting to repaint my curbside (by the door)
Airstream Caravel nameplate.

Surprisingly, I have seen very few good pictures of exactly where
there was color on the mid sixties plates.

I have seen the blue stripes in Land Yacht in the middle painted blue, and have seen the surface of the Airstream painted blue
with black letters.

Was the plate polished aluminum on the surface with black lettering and only the land Yacht blue?

I've even seen RED!

HELP PLEASE!! Does anybody have a good picture of an original
or does anyone one the answer?

Thank you in advance!

nameplate

I know this isn't the nameplate you're speaking of, but this link might be helpful to you, if you haven't already seen it.

P.S.

I just noticed that there is a pic of the name badge on a '65 Caravel on that same site.

Ours is a 64 & original...

The large plate is blue but it's not painted...it's annodized & pretty smooth. The small CA plate is painted black with raised & embossed metal letters.

The blue plaque is somewhat splotchy from where the clearcoat has come off and oxidation has occured unevenly. The black one is missing bits of paint in this photo...we have since stripped it to redo or just polish it.

The GlobeTrotter raised nameplate looks like it was gold colored "chrome" over pot-metal...it's pretty hard to tell. Ours needs work...

The nameplate next to the entrance door on my '77 Excella 500 looks similiar. I painted it Royal Blue from the Rustoleum brand of paints, the same color of AIRSTREAM on the front of my trailer.

Best I can remember it was. I will check when I get home because I only remember thinking this was going to be easy because I was using only one color.

Welcome!

Thanks for the Pic IBELL and welcome to the Forums.

Lotsa good advice and links to products that is great!

My nameplate is the newer stripe, not the larger plate.

All is know is I'm going to need a smaller brush!

Again WELCOME!
