Question Plastic Coat Alternative Clear Wrap

I had our 1993 classic 30' AS stripped, polished and recoated with plastic coat about 10 years ago at P&S in northern Ohio. Not complaining but it is starting the pealing process again. I have waxed 2 times a year but coating is starting to fail.

Now I have found P&S no longer offer re-coat service.

So my question is has anyone found and alternative.
The things I have tried but not really satisfied have been.
Shakhide
AlumClear spray
Airstream acrylic spray can.
None seem to match as a touchup, the plastic coat seems to be cloudy, these products are very clear. I'm trying to make some temp repairs not stand out.

I have recently looked into a vinyl clear wrap to do the front segments, 3M Scotchgard Pro Series Clear Paint Protection, it is quite expensive but may be an alternative.

Has any one tried a wrap or come up with a long term re-coat solution?

I too have been thinking about how to address som recent mid panel corrosion spots just above my rock shields. My thought is to strip just those two panels, address the corrosion, then blend with scotch bright or steel wool. Then cover with something like 3M clear like they use on some newer cars. It’s a film put on like a wrap. Where I’m stuck is I don’t have any definitive answer about stripping a later AS. Mine is an 06 Bambi.

I've been thinking about having this company clear-coat a trailer.

https://alumaclear-corp.business.site/

They also sell the product in spray cans for small jobs.

Enjoy,

I purchased a couple of cans and tried alumclear it actually went on very nice and is qucik to dry. Very clear. The repair I made is above the awning and is on a 20 feet long section of aluminum with a peeled spot about 2" inch I tried to feather out but the polished aluminum shines very well through touched up alumclear spot and sticks out like a sore thumb. At least it is sealed from corsion for the time being.

I protect my 30 year old Plast-coat with applications of Liquid Glass twice a year. So far so good, fingers crossed.

Ditter,

So, if I understand your post correctly, it sounds like the AlumaClear is a really good product for clear-coating an Airstream trailer that has been stripped and polished?

How long ago did you put on the Alumaclear and how is it holding up?

My understanding they have either a 5 or 10 year warranty which is much better than the old 1-year that P&S gave.

I just made a repair a few days ago.

I had the AS recoated about 10 years ago at P&S it has held up well but now the very front top segmant is pealing ( the one with the numbers) bad.

Another small spot over the awning is also pealing, that is what I made the repair to with the Alumspary. I can still see the spot from 30 feet away but probably most other pepole would never notice. The spray went on very well just diffrent clarity than original plastic coat, much clearer. Not ready for a compleat strip trailer is in near perfect condition except for these 2 issues.

Never tried liquid glass I have used 3 coats of Meguiar's G18216 Ultimate synthetic wax 2 times year. And trailer is stored inside at least 6 months. But I sure will look into liquid glass.
Seen utube also on ceramic not sure about it but treatment $1500.
