Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) to remove a dent?

We recently bought our new-to-us 2009 FC 27FBQ and it is in "almost new" condition, except for one 'long' dent along the starboard side. Seems like the previous owner brushed up against a branch or something. It did not penetrate the clearcoat and it is just beneath the starboard side awning, so if the awning is out, you cannot see it at all. I was thinking of taking it to a PDR shop to see if they could pull out the dent (I don't want to call it a scratch, since it feels more like a 'long dent' than a scratch to me). Does anyone have experience with PDR work on your Airstream? Thx

It would help if you could post a pic of your dent.

That said, it never hurts to take the trailer to the PDR place and ask what they can do. There are many threads on these forums about pulling out dents from the outside--just search for "dent removal," and you shold find many. In general, you have a chance of getting the dent to look "almost unnoticeable" as long as the aluminum has not been too stretched/creased.

I have had small dents removed from my car by mobile PDR guys, but what I noticed is that they have all kinds of tools that allow them to reach around behind the "outer skin" of the car and work the dent out from inside. This isn't something they will be able to do on an AS, limiting them to the glue-on pull tab method.

good luck!

I had a few branches create few long dents in the rear upper cap last year. PDR removed the dents. I'm thrilled with the repair. But again it depends on the dent and the experience of the PDR person. The dealer said it was too dented to come out and the PDR guy wasn't sure himself being that it is an aluminum body. But it can be done. I think that it happened on a rounded section helped rather than a flat panel.
