Molding & other questions

Hi All,
We are surviving the winter in our '84 345, thanks for the excellent suggestions. Now that we're cozy and the lines don't freeze up I am looking at other issues. I have 2" & 1" molding channels running around the sides, but the molding itself did not survive. Is this an Airstream only part, or is this a standard auto parts deal? Also, my windshield wipers have seen better days and I went all over Cleveland, TN, (not saying much, sorry to any proud natives!), and could not find any replacements. Finally, after sitting for 3 months in the winter without being driven, what are some suggestions for prep to drive again?

The insert moldings are available from a number of sources, and one member here had some recently for sale. http://www.airforums.com/forum...=&postid=22192

Check the size, I believe you have the 1 1/2" and 1/2" like I do, but not positive.

As for getting ready to drive again, of course check all your fluids; oil, trans, coolant, power steering, brake fluid, etc. Look at belts and hoses for wear, cracking.
The air pressure in the tires, and the air bags.
Be sure everything that is supposed to be down and away is down and away- like the tv antenna ,and any doors outside that need to be locked, any inside items that need to be stowed. I left my generator door unlocked one morning, it opened as I pulled onto the road. Yikes!
Probably some other suggestions will come from others. When are y'all heading out? Be great if you could hit Mystic Springs April rally- you could learn a lot, as we all did last year.

Thanks for the reply. We are out of here at the end of Feb, plan to go down to So. Florida for a couple of months of R & R before 6 months of workamping in NH. We would definitely like to check out the rally. Is it a good family scene? I have only ever seen 1 motorhome like mine, so it would be a great experience to see a bunch. Is there a site for the rally? I would like to get all the info.

I know that my blades come from NAPA and are considered a "Heavy Duty" blade. I think some have been able to find them at Autozone, but I do not know the part number.
