A little more information would be helpful...

Were you installing a new insert when this happened?
Did you rub up against something and pull it out?
Did it fall out on its own?
Can you get it to go back into the channel at all? Or, is it not staying put?

Not sure what happened or how this happened so it's really hard to make suggestions on what to do to fix it.

Hi

Simple answer is to take out the piece that's there ( it just is held in with "tape" on the back side) and replace it with a new one. The replacement material is around $200 for a roll. You can do a couple of sections of trailer with what's on one roll.

Werd of caution...if you replace it in kind with an 'authorized' AS part expect the same results.
I purchased all new AS OEM 1/2" & 1" rolls.
The 'chrome' pealed off in 2yrs and the adhesive gave up in 3.

I cleaned off the chrome, backing and extrusion, re-installed the molding with 3m 4200 and covered it with reflective tape.

It was a casualty of getting rubbed against a gas station concrete bollard, unfortunately. It will not go back into the channel, no.

Hi

Since it's a solid piece of metal, it's not going to "shrink" to fit. If it's stretched or slid, that needs to be fixed before it will go back in.
