Is it that simple?

Just noticed that the clear film covering the chrome trim tape on the rock guards is wrinkling and about to fall off. Is it really that simple to remove the old tape trim by lifting and pulling the tape off and sticking on new trim tape? Or am I missing something here?

Odd my 2007 Safari went 10 years in Phoenix AZ before the trim began to look a bit ratty, where as my 2017 FC. not quite 2 years old and stored under under a roof in CA , is showing signs of weathering. Go figure.

I replaced the plastic 'chrome' molding once with the OEM replacement, went bad in 5 Seasons. 👎😡
Got smart the second time and replaced it with 3m Marine reflective tape...should last a good long time. UV resistant and tough enough for salt water environment.

Here and Here

More application info...

It was a two person job. 😂

I had chrome tape left over from the 25’ repair. Yes the removal of the old damaged tape and replace was “really that simple”. Measure twice. Cut once.
