Exterior Frame Paint Color

Has anyone had paint mixed that matches the original gray, Have a 2014 International 25 looking to do some touch ups....cost of buying it in a spray can is nuts. If so please provide the mixture or photo of label. Thanks.

Tried it numerous times over the years, and that included phone calls to the factory for the paint code. The spray can paint color does not match. It doesn't come close. Having the paint mixed, assuming you can obtain the code from the factory ( it won't be easy), will also not provide a satisfactory match. In addition, paint changes color over an extended period of time due to a variety of factors so touching up small areas won't work, and trying to match larger areas of your AS will not be successful. Simply change the shade of gray (assuming it is gray) and forget about trying to do the impossible, or change color altogether. You might try black if you're attempting to repaint the frame. The newer AS unit frames are black. Trying to match existing painted surfaces is an impossibility.

I agree with Hannibal01, paint and powder coats fade / change with age. I usually get a dark grey flat finish. Mask off A-Frame and banana wrap, clean and lightly sand then paint with Rust-Oleum or Krylon paint/primer combo rattle can. Everything matches that way.

Yes, this. The paint cans from AS do not match and are ridiculously expensive. I went from what I thought was going to be a 10 min touch-up to a 1/2 day job scuffing, taping off, and repainting the entire tongue. Looks great though.

If I were to do it again, I would use a good Rustoleum paint. Better paint and less than half the cost.
