I am thinking about applying a vinyl decal to the exterior of my 23 Globetrotter (vehicle name and illustration), but worried about if I every have to take it off, will it damages the clear coat? Does anyone have any experience with issues involving exterior vinyl graphics?
People have been doing it for decades, the big red numbers (for Airstream Club/WBCCI) many put on the front and sometimes rear end-caps. It doesn't seem to hurt the clear coat in most cases, actually the opposite problem. The vinyl decals protect the clear coat under them and when removed there is ghosting were the undamaged clear coat stands out compared to the unprotected clear coat.
