Clearcoat is off but wax giving hazy finish

I used Citristrip to remove the clearcoat from my 1985 Sovereign with good results. I then applied Walbernizer wax to finish it but the finish was hazy and not acceptable. I removed the wax with a degreaser but am unsure what to use as a finish now. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks.

After a complete cleaning with green Scotch Pads and mineral spirits the novelty of shiny dulled considerably.🥴

After 16 Seasons the 'patina' matched the age.👍
