Black is the new blue
It is under construction, but it is black. I also found some black Vulkem 116 to seal my new LED lights.
Actually its an older picture, and the rear end looks a little better than that.

Ok, it is blue, not black...
Here is a shot of my LandYacht emblems (1976 25'), one complete, one untouched with almost 40 years of patina. I used emery paper and subsequently finer grades of wet or dry paper, then brush painted the inset portion of the emblem with blue Rustoleum (not quite the shade I expected). After it dried for a few days I repeated the paper process. I like it, but maybe red would look better?

Badges are not installed yet, will probably go up this weekend...
It was a little more work than expected.
The badges were powdercoated in full black, and the grey done with POR15.
A little time consuming but happy with the results.

have some fun with the letters as well.
got them stripped, pass them thru a bench grinder with a wire brush wheel and a lot of patience with the little brush and more POR15

Are all the metal cans in pretty good shape on the light assembly? Mine were all toast.

I did Kip's helicoil method, and it worked awesome. Could not bring myself to just pop rivet those back in... was a HUGE leak source. It took loads of sealant to fill all the gaps, and the SS fasteners snugged it up nicely against the shell.
The only thing I wish I would have done, is sand the corrosion off better, and then clear the whole thing. Instead I repainted the black, and cleared it, but I only polished the outside perimeter.. its already corroding again.

You can get new solid aluminum cans at Vintage trailer supply http://cdn3.volusion.com/wckp9.3xkgs...jpg?1397821778 For 1969-1974 trailers
and new pigtails for the bulbs from Dan at LED4RV (two 1156 SKU508 and two 1157 SKU516) My rear light assemblies are all completely redone now and they look awesome. I was able to salvage a few of the original cans by glass beading them and painting them with POR-15.
but...I used pearlecent blue on my lights and full color on my badges though so I'm not sure I'm allowed in this thread

Would you need them?
I will have no use for them, I painted them with POR15 in case someone may want them.
