When my lower trim became loose at one end, I used a heavy duty double stick tape (found it at Lowe's). If you use glue, you will probably regret it when it comes time to replace the faded trim as many of us have had to do.

I recently chose a different approach. I used a wire brush to remove the loose foil and faded trim. I used the flex glue I mentioned earlier to fix the loose trim. Then masked off the trim with newspaper and painters tape, and painted with rustoleum Chrome spray paint. Looks like new, and $20 instead of hundreds to replace it. Very pleased, even if I have to do it yearly
