Argosy white touch-up paint?

I'm planning to get to some sanding and painting soon. Can anyone recommend a product in a spray can that comes close to the original Argosy shade of white? I just want to get the recently acquired '78 Minuet trailer looking a bit more "presentable" for the time being. Down the line we'll probably get a more proper paint job done.

Yes, I can tell you exactly what color you need. I have a 78 Argosy, and if you look at my photos on this site you will see one of the front with painting in progress. I painted the trailer after sanding and washing about 18 months ago. The Oklahoma Summers can be tough on paint; however, it looks as good as the day I painted it. I used Krylon, Interior-Exterior spray paint, #1504 "Ivory Gloss". Balrgn on this site painted his Argosy motor home with an auto paint, but he has lots of expertise and equipment that I do not. His looks great too. I can highly recommend the Krylon paint for easy touch up. My "touch up" has just about covered the entire trailer by now.

Plasti-Kote Truck & Sport Utility 1560 Polar White is ball park close at least on my 1977. I bought mine from Advance Auto Parts. For proffesional paint job it is hard to beat Dupont Imron I had 1974 Argosy painted with Imron at heavy truck dealer in 1984 and last time I saw it a couple of year ago paint looked good as new.

Juel posted his reply while I was one finger typing mine he may have a better match??

I used Krylon Antique White on ours, but I think it is a different shade from yours. The OEM paint on your coach is Dupont Imron, somewhere in my file system is a list of all colors used on Airstream and Argosy coaches from 1972 to 1995, I will try to dig it out and post it on the forums.

Great Info on Paint

Thanks group, I had not seen or identified a "can" of color for my 78 minuet. This will help mine as well.

Use the search tool and search argosy paint color. You'll be amazed at what you come up with - including the original paint codes several years. Good luck...

I cam upon a great match the other day.
Dupli-Color® Truck, Van and SUV Paint is a high-quality acrylic lacquer formulated for use over any original factory finish. Found it at, of all placed Wall-Mart.

The color is near perfect for my 76 and 77!
