'66 International Emblem and Molding

I have not found a source for the original International emblem for 1966 Airstreams.

Here is a crummy picture of the emblem from the 1966 sales brochure. The center photo best shows the emblems. It appears the International trim level included special tail lights, a beltline molding, the flag emblem, and the International script; amoung other items I'm sure.

Does anyone know a vendor for replicas of these items?

I don't know of a source for reproduction ones, but I have a similar issue with the emblems from our 1970. I am going to try sending them to a chrome shop and have them rechromed, then paint them myself.

Thanks Aviator. I am hoping Vintage Trailer Supply, Inland, or even Airstream Jackson Center might have a stash of these flag emblems and the International script. It may be it was only used on 66 through 68 International level trailers.

Well, I posted an ad in Airstream Classifieds under Parts. I got a referral to Silver Trailer Supply who carries used parts. They had the flag emblems I was looking for and they are on their way to me.

Here is their website address:

Hi David
I know this is an old post but I'm hopping you can help. I need to see a close up of the colours on this very same emblem. Could you send some please.

Thanks a bunch
Chris

Well, the ones I purchased were not painted at all. Bare metal ready for painting.

But I do have a Airstream brochure showing this emblem and its colors, sorry colours. Maybe this will help you.

And a photo of a 67 emblem. I'm no historian, but I believe Airstream used a similar emblem from 69 until 74 or 75 on the International trim level trailers. I understand there was only one mold, no left or right mold. So Airstream in their wisdom made a "backslash" molding design on the 69 through 74 trailers.

Photo 3 shows the "backslash". The curb side of the trailer has a "forward slash" configuration.

Airstream trivia...

Thanks for your reply David! I will be the one painting since I suck at polishing.

The red is fairly easy but I have seen everything from a light blue to a navy blue for the blue

I really like that you noticed the spelling on the word " colour" It does not take a lot to make me happy!

Maybe you should find a Canadian flag emblem for the side of your trailer? I'm going to find a Colorado state flag for my Overlander just so folks might know where I'm from without looking at the license plate.

It was suggested to me and I thought about it but I kind of want to keep the exterior as original as possible

I do have a flagpole that will either have canadian flag, New Brunswick flag or Acadian flag depending on our location lol

Very appropriate. Here is a Canadian Airstream we camped close to in upstate New York. Looks good.
