For Pilots: Pulling back on the stick makes the sky appear. Push he stick forward and the ground appears. When the trees start to get bigger, pull back on the stick. Quickly.

My dad used to say that about soldiers. There are a lot of Google references for that.

"Takeoffs are optional, landings are mandatory"

The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.”

What's your favorite, famous (or not) saying?

Learned this stuff forever ago during ground school.

The three most useless things in aviation:

Altitude above you.

Runway behind you.

Fuel in the truck on the ground.

A final thought:

“It’s better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, rather than being in the air wishing you were on the ground. “

It is a form of insanity to expect different results from repeating the same actions.

When I was getting drafted into the army, before going into the induction station, dad said "Remember, don't volunteer for anything, no matter how good it sounds". It was sound advice.

Who wants to be a fireman? - The fireman got up in the middle of the night to shovel coal into the barrack's furnace

Who wants to be a policeman? - Police this area, pick up everything and if you can't pick it up, paint it green and salute it

Who has a driver's license? - Here, drive this broom

I need 3 volunteers to go down to the airfield and get 25' of flight line and 2 gallons of prop wash

Who can drive a truck? - Missed out on that one. A National Guard guy knew what a deuce and a half was, got to drive it for any of the field outings. I came out ahead

A few weeks ago, wife, dog, and I were having lunch at a restaurant outdoor patio in Murrells Inlet, SC. Another couple came up at sat at the table beside us. The woman's T-shirt read "Piss me off and I will slap you so hard, google won't be able to find you." I told her I certainly didn't want to piss her off, but loved the shirt.
